"So you're telling me you and Eddie almost hooked up in the corn maze last week?" Robin asks, incredulously.
I nod as I chew my pizza. The noise in the cafeteria picks up around us and Robin leans in so I can hear her.
"Why didn't you?" She grins, mischievously and I throw my crust at her.
"Chrissy and her gaggle of cheerleaders found us." I murmur and she nods thoughtfully.
"So is he a good kisser?" Robin pops a chip in her mouth and crunches loudly.
I feel my face heat up as I wipe my hands on my napkin. I peek over at Eddie across the cafeteria. He's talking animatedly to Gareth, pointing down at a magazine they have laid across the table. I watch his lips move, his tongue darting out to lick them slightly. I shake myself and turn back to Robin, feeling flushed. Robin looks at my face and laughs.
"No need to answer," she says, wagging her eyebrows. "I get it."
I roll my eyes and open my soda, taking a sip.
"So what now?" Robin asks and I glance up at her. She regards me, quizzically and I set my drink down.
"What do you mean?"
"Are you and Eddie dating?" She asks, waving her hand for me to elaborate and I shake my head.
"No, Eddie likes Chrissy. He was just caught up in the moment with me. Honestly, we still don't get along he just likes me physically."
Robin looks at me skeptically and rolls her eyes and I look over at Eddie again. He's got a huge smile on his face as he laughs with Dustin and I can't help but smile as well. Robin clears her throat and I turn back around.
"Yea, but you like him." She states matter-of-factly.
"No I do not." I groan and start to stack my trash up on my lunch tray.
"You were just making puppy dog eyes at him across the cafeteria," she smirks. "How do you explain that?"
"I'm just glad my worries over his relationship with Dustin weren't warranted that's all." Robin groans and puts her head in her hands, annoyed. I get up and take my tray to the trash, discarding the remnants of my lunch and turn to head back to my seat. When I turn around, I run right into someone. I pull away already apologizing until I look up and see Eddie smiling down at me.
"Hey there, Henderson," he says with a smile and for a moment my head swims. I shake myself and remind myself to act casually, pushing Robin's earlier comments out of my head.
"Munson," I greet him. "What's up?"
He shoves his hands in his pockets and looks down at me sheepishly.
"I was just wondering if your offer to help me get the girl still stands?" I raise my eyebrows and he just stares back at me, waiting.
"You want me to help you with Chrissy?" I ask, incredulously. After what happened at the October Festival I don't know how I can be much help. My chest hurts slightly at the idea of helping him date Chrissy and I tell myself it's just anxiety.
He tosses his head back and forth with a weird expression on his face. "Not necessarily." He says and I'm more confused than I was before.
"You like someone other than Chrissy?" I ask, skeptical. I saw the way he fawned over her in the hall last week, like a lost soul looking at a Goddess. How could he like someone else?
"I thought about what you said and I think I idolized Chrissy, but I never really wanted to date her. Plus, she's happy where she's at and I'm happy for her." He shrugs and I blink up at him. Who knew Eddie Munson could be so mature? I plant my feet and cross my arms over my chest.
