Eddie's POV:
"So you're telling me you like my sister? Like you want to date her?" Dustin asks for the tenth time, disbelief coating his voice.
"Yes," I groan, my fingers rubbing frustratedly at my eyes. "Why is that so hard to believe? You said yourself, she's great!"
"Yea, but you two couldn't stand one another a week ago and now you like her?" His face is skeptical as he paces in front of me. We are hanging out in the Hellfire Club classroom after a campaign. We just got finished cleaning up and I had asked him to stay behind so I could tell him everything, offering him a ride home as well. I knew he would be shocked but I wasn't expecting him to be this surprised. I mean his sister is hot and he spent the better half of last week talking about how amazing she is. What did he expect?
"I got to know her and I was wrong," I say with a shrug and he just stares at me.
"Is this about what happened at my house in the bathroom?" He asks, his eyes narrowing.
"No, Dustin," I answer, exasperated. He has asked a million times if something happened between us that night and I've been able to dodge the question or redirect him, but I knew he wouldn't just let it go. I'm just glad he has no idea about the corn maze. I gulp and push the memory away before my mind wanders too much.
"Does she know you're interested?" Dustin asks and I mule over the question. A part of me hopes she knows, but I have a growing suspicion she doesn't. Her comment following getting caught at the corn maze has me leaning more towards the idea that she doesn't. Why else would she have bought up ruining my chances with Chrissy? I shake my head.
"I don't think so."
"Have you tried telling her?"
"Not yet. I would imagine that she may be just as confused as you are, considering our history. Hence why I went to you first." I wave my hand dramatically towards him as I talk and he nods.
"Fair point." He murmurs and stares into space, thoughtfully.
"Why my sister though?" He says suddenly, scrunching up his face and seems confused again and I sigh.
"I don't know, Henderson. I just like her." I shrug and he shakes his head.
"I'm not convinced." I stare wide eyed at him, annoyance obvious on my face. "How do I know this isn't some plot at revenge for her giving you a hard time? Or what if you are just confusing hate for lust or something and you are getting all confused? I don't want to help you unless I'm sure you're serious."
Dustin crosses his arms over his chest and for a moment I'm struck with a sense of likeness, the posture so much like Y/N's I want to laugh but I choke it down.
"What do you want me to do to convince you?" I sigh, caving.
"I don't really know," he says, puzzled and I throw my hands up in the air. "Just show me you like her I guess."
"Great, Dustin," I groan, annoyed. "That clears things right on up. So helpful."
"Fine," Dustin says. "I'll tell you some things about her that might be useful to know, but if you hurt her Eddie I swear-"
"I promise, man." I say, my tone serious. I look into his eyes. "I really do like her." Dustin regards me for another moment before nodding.
"Alright then, let's go."
"Where we going?" I ask, getting up as he picks up his bag off the ground and heads for the door. I jog after him and then fall into pace beside him.
"To my house," he says with a smirk. "It's getting late and Y/N will be pissed if I'm out any later then I have to be so if you want to know more you are just going to have to spend the night."
