When the both of you arrive back home, Jisung has already prepared dinner and welcomes both of you with a tight hug, while Changbin shows you a gentle smirk before looking back at his phone. Today is mac n' cheese day, that's what Chris told you right before you left his private garden. You're quite excited, because you love anything that has lots of cheese on it. Chris quickly sets the table, then carefully pulls your chair further away from the table so that you can comfortably take a seat.
"Woah, Chan. Since when are you such a gentleman?", Changbin asks teasingly.
As a response, all he gets is a sneer, which makes him chuckle. You sit down and watch Jisung as he places the tray on the table and excitedly throws his arms out.
"Tada!", he cheers.
Your mouth falls open in amazement and you joyfully clap your hands, which makes him smile.
"Chan has the same habit. Of applauding when he's excited, I mean", he explains.
Did you pick it up because of him? No, that's not possible. You remember how it used to be something you did constantly, and the people around you would always point it out. Even Mingi did, and you thought he found it funny, but after a while, whenever he noticed it, he complained.
'Are you a child?', is something he'd say.
Maybe that's why you stopped doing it. But then why did it suddenly happen again now? You can't think about it for very long, because the smell of the Mac n' cheese in front of you distracts you from everything else around you. Before you can grab a serving for you, Chris takes your plate and uses the spatula to dig up the noodles in the corner of the tray. Then, he places it in front of you. You glance at him, but his expression is completely neutral, making you assume that he did this automatically. Because you're a visitor, and it's normal to be hospitable. You stop yourself from interpreting anything else into it. You gaze at him, until you notice a smile appear on his face and his hands bang together repeatedly, which makes you chuckle softly. Jisung notices this subtle interaction between you two, and interlocks his two hands to rest his head on them.
"So, y/n. I've been reading one of your stories", he states.
You look up at him with a spoonful of noodles in your mouth.
"You sure do write a lot about romance. What's your inspiration? I'm asking because I need some for myself."
You swallow your food and ponder for a moment,
"I'm not so sure. I don't really have a lot of personal experience with love, so I guess I just write from the perspective of other people.""Ehh?", Jisung blurts out surprised, "No experience? Come on, that's a lie!"
You shake your head quickly,
"It really isn't. I've never had a boyfriend."Jisung and Changbin exchange puzzled looks, before glancing back at you. Meanwhile, Chris is silently listening and enjoying his meal. His two friends were sure that you and Max used to be a thing. After all, that's what Chris explained to them.
"You've never even had a crush?", Changbin wonders.
Suddenly, a bittersweet smile forms on your face and a bunch of faded memories re-appear in your head. You've tried to forget about these feelings for so long now, but every time this topic gets brought up, you can't help but re-live those moments.
"I have", you mutter hesitantly.
Chris lowers his spoon and gazes at you curiously, giving you his full attention. Both of his friends are attentively listening, too.
"It's a long story, though. I don't want to keep you guys from eating", you scoff nervously.
"No, tell us!", Jisung begs.
