Fire and Gold

Chapter 2.3

In the thick of darkness at the crossroads inn almost all were sleeping. Almost. Criston cole was on look out since he is the lord commander of the kingsguard.

He watched in the shadows of the night because it was his job to make sure that the king is safe from all harm. As he stayed watching he heard a twig snapping. Turning his head towards the sound focusing his eyes on where it came from he was able to see a shadow of a person running from one tree to another.

Taking action Criston turned back around heading inside the inn to alert the other members of the kingsguard to surround the king's rooms. They made that happen, one of the doors opened up showing Alicent and Rhaenyra that were sharing a room in the inn looked confused on what was happening.

" Ser Criston? What is happening?" Alicent asked

" Unknown group of people inside the woods just outside the inn. Not sure how much." Criston said

Rhaenyra spoke up next " Where are Alessa and Dyanna?"

Harwin turning the corner seeing them talk.

" I saw them outside asleep. Don't worry I will get them." Harwin said as Criston Cole followed behind him.

Getting outside of the inn they scanned the group of people trying to find their daughters. When they did, they woke them up and moving them inside the inn into the room with Alicent and Rhaenyra.

" What's going on?" Alessa said

" Not sure yet." Criston said

Getting in the room, Cole spoke forward. " Block this door" .

Alicent and Rhaenyra did that. Then back to Alessa and Dyanna as the just listened to the thick silence that surrounded them.

Cole and Harwin along with some others watched the shadows waiting for something to happen. Which something did happen, an arrow was let go and missed. But the ones who fired the arrow came running out of the shadows of the woods coming towards the king's company. Cole and Harwin stood their ground ready for a fight.

Rhaenyra, Alicent, Dyanna and Alessa heard the start of the fight. The yelling and the sounds of the steel swords hitting each other. Dyanna and Alessa wanted to go out there and fight but Alicent and Rhaenyra held them back.

Criston along with Harwin were more than able to end the poor excuse of an attack under just a few minutes. They left the bodies in a far corner so that the king nor the rest of the court would need to see them when they left.

When it came time to leave all were dressed Dyanna and Alessa walked out going to their horses trying to see the bodies but they could not see any. Getting on their horses Eddard with his daughters were ready for the journey after such a strange attack by mountain clans.

They pushed forward getting to king's landing in no time. Dyanna and Alessa were unimpressed by seeing King's landing again. To them they could not understand why they needed to come in the first place.

Entering in the palace walls the starks were shown their rooms of the palace. For Eddard, his rooms fit his new title as the master of Laws on the great council, an different change than before.

Dyanna rooms were nice and it was next door to Alessa. where both were able to relax for a moment where they could think about their next steps. And to figure out why they are in king's landing.

But they would have to wait for that because Alicent and Rhaenyra teamed up together for Dyanna and Alessa to introduce them to court life. To be a lady and to look for an husband but they will be in a rude awakening with Dyanna and Alessa.
