Anthony kept his hand in Kate's as they made their way around the room, smiling brighter than ever.

They had just wed.

It had been a small ceremony, with only family invited. Three weeks before, Anthony had sought out the Queen to ask for a special license, which she granted him with a small twinkle in her eye.

"I don't think I've ever seen you look so determined, boy," she had said, lifting an eyebrow.

Anthony could only smile in return. It seemed that was all he was doing lately. She was right; he had been determined. Now that he had opened his eyes and stopped being a stubborn fool, he couldn't wait to marry Kate.

And finally, it was done.

Kate was his viscountess, and he was certain there was nobody else more perfect for the role - or for him.

They had both agreed on a private affair. Anything more would have only stirred up past memories of his failed wedding to Edwina (which still made him shudder with embarrassment). Anthony had quickly learned that it didn't matter who attended or where they did it, as long as it was Kate before him, because he failed to notice that anyone besides the two of them were in the room anyway.

"I think your sisters wish to speak with me," Kate whispered.

Anthony followed her gaze. "Probably. Will they mind if I refuse to let you go?"

"Anthony."

He sighed, trying to ignore the feelings which stirred within him when she said his name like that. For weeks, all he'd been imagining was her calling out his name in different circumstances, preferably in their bedchamber.

He hastily tried to think about something else.

"Benedict is coming over, anyhow," she said, slipping her hand out of his. "I'll see you in a moment."

He pressed a quick kiss to her temple and murmured, "I fear that is still too long for me to bear," which made her giggle and shake her head.

His gaze followed her as she walked away. He was looking at her with such burning hunger that Benedict grabbed him by the shoulder to force him to turn the other way.

"Save that for later, brother, for the sake of us all," Benedict grimaced.

Anthony narrowed his eyes. "Is there any particular reason you've come over?"

Benedict grinned. "Can I not congratulate you?"

When Anthony dropped the irritated demeanour and returned to looking hopelessly in love and disbelief, Benedict felt rather jealous. But above all, he was overjoyed for his elder brother. He knew how hard Anthony was on himself.

The day had been a stark contrast to when Anthony was wedding Edwina. Benedict had known something was seriously wrong at the altar. He and Anthony were only a few years apart, and knew each other inside and out. Hence why he was worried from the first moment of that dreadful ceremony, when Anthony couldn't bring himself to genuinely smile at Edwina.

Anthony had been tense the entire way through, only half-present. The only time he had relaxed was when his eyes had met Kate's, and that was when Benedict had known that his brother was marrying the wrong woman.
