note: I really wanted to write a light-hearted, cute family moment where they're all bickering and generally being Bridgertons. Hope you enjoy, don't forget to vote + comment! PS the new pics from S3 filming...omg

Anthony groaned in frustration as he opened the bedroom door. "Remind me why I thought hosting a family dinner would be a good idea?"

Kate stifled a laugh and slipped her hand into his. "Anthony, please. It's been far too long since we did anything like this. It will be good fun."

He sent her a dubious look. "I'll remind you of the fact you thought it would be good fun later tonight, when you will have lost your mind."

She gave his forearm a playful squeeze. "You know I adore your family."

His eyes softened. "And they adore you. But they can be a right pain in the ar-"

"Anthony!" She sent him a sharp look before he cursed in front of Hyacinth, who had just appeared at the bottom of the stairs to greet them. He gave her a secret, knowing smile, and then wrapped two arms around his youngest sibling to twirl her in the air. It made Kate's heart swell, as always whenever she saw him with either of the youngest Bridgertons. He was practically a father figure to them, and watching him be so patient and sweet with them made her even more excited to start their own little family. Without realising it, she had moved her hand to her lower belly, feeling the bump there. Anthony caught sight of this and his eyes locked onto hers, a smile curling at the corners of his lips.

"Anthony! Kate!" Came a loud holler from the hall entrance, almost making Kate jump. She turned to see Colin striding towards them with Benedict in tow, a huge grin plastered on his face. He immediately gave Kate a quick hug. "Marvellous to see you," he said. "I couldn't believe it when Anthony said he was throwing a dinner. I assume it was your idea."

Kate laughed. "Let's just say he needed a bit of convincing, but he's come around."

Anthony joined them, eyebrows raised. "I can tell you're talking about me."

Colin clapped him on the back. "Oh, just discussing what a miserable sod you are, brother."

His dry tone made Kate cover her mouth with the back of her hand to stop a laugh from escaping. Anthony snaked an arm around her waist. Benedict took note of this and said, "Perhaps a miserably in love sod, Col."

"That's more like it," Anthony murmured, his low voice sending shivers through Kate's body.

Colin rolled his eyes and clasped his hands together. "When's dinner being served?"

"I thought that might be your first question," Anthony grumbled. "I suppose we'd better head to the dining hall. I believe everybody else is already there."

They walked together, but Colin wouldn't get over Anthony's comment about his first question being related to the food. Kate and Benedict found themselves in hysterics together as Colin kept repeating, are you saying I'm a hungry pig? to which Anthony would reply in a flat tone, I never called you hungry, but I won't deny that you're a pig.

Finally everyone was seated at the table. Of course, Anthony was seated at the head of the table, and Kate took the seat on one side closest to him. Daphne was on her right, and Benedict was opposite her. Even from where she was sitting, she could hear Hyacinth and Gregory having one of their regular arguments over how 'appalling' Gregory was at Latin - a claim that Gregory wouldn't stand for, and combatted with a statement of how 'useless' Hyacinth was at waltzing.
