"Aye nigga be careful with that." I said stabling  my record player in my friend Javion's hand

"Mmcht, this old ass shit." He said setting it down in a box "You swear this shit better than a speaker

"Cause it is." I said taping up another box

"Still can't believe you moving to Louisiana dawg, leaving behind this big ass house"

"I know but there's nothing for me here anymore."

Nala and I's secret relationship being exposed never got back to faculty thankfully but that didn't stop every female and I mean every female on the team from shooting their shot. Matter of fact the team was more females than males now. I couldn't coach properly without a girl bending over directly in front of me or asking me to help them stretch and then try to guide my hands further downward. I loved coaching Track but I couldn't do that at Cherry Creek High anymore.

"So you think if you move out there shit just gonna peachy between you and Nala?"

"I don't know what it's gonna be like but I feel like it's a good first step." I shrugged

"Yeah moving out there without even talking to her first is a great first step Chris." Javion said sarcastically

Nala basically ghosted me after this summer. I thought we had a chance of working things out but I guess not.

"Look man she won't talk to me, I need my girl back and I'm willing to do anything to get her back ."

"So if she say no, then what?" He said sitting on one of the boxes

"Yo ass always thinks the worst, if she say no then I'll still be coaching out there, it'll just be a new beginning for me."

"Couldn't be me."

"That's why yo ass don't got a girl now always doing the bare minimum."

"Shiiiiittt doing the bare minimum been working for me so far, why stop now?" He shrugged plopping down on my couch

"Yeah okay."

I didn't have a plan at all. I tried to accept things for what it is but I couldn't over the months I found myself leaving voicemails and sending text messages to Nala practically begging to hear from her. In all the times I called her she called me back once and I missed the call. Nala could avoid me through the phone but she couldn't avoid me in person if I was right there in front of her.

"So when do you leave?"

"Next Monday. I'm having everything shipped ahead of me."

"You really love this girl huh, I ain't seen you act this way since-..."

"Don't even say that bitch name bruh, she the reason I'm in this position in the first place."

"Nahh you the reason, why you let that crazy hoe in your house in the first place."
