1 Week After the Frat Party
"I'm gonna be honest, I didn't think I'd hear from you." Kari said as we stretched"Help seems to be hard to come by here, not gonna turn that down just because of whatever you and Kendra got going on." I said
"We don't have anything going on." He persisted
"Kari you don't have to explain anything to me really that's your business and it has nothing to do with me."
He started to say something but chose to nod instead as I stripped down out of my sweats revealing the Nike pro shorts I had on underneath. Kari eyed me but looked away once we made eye contact.
"Did you want to start with drills or...?"
"Nah actually let me see you do a run through and we'll go from there. I'll meet you at the finish line and I'll blow the whistle for you to start.
I nod and make my way over to the start looking around the track at the 10 hurdles that I would be attempting to go over. I take a deep inhale and settle in to my blocks silently praying for the best outcome.
READY
SEEEEET
SCREECH
I take off in a full stride preparing to cross over my first hurdle. Usually I would run the 300 by sprinting the first 100 striding the second and then giving the rest of what I had left.
Nine
Yet now there was a extra 100m with hurdles that I wasn't used to running and it made me worry all the time of how to finish.
Seven
On top of that I felt like I didn't have enough endurance.
Six
To anybody else it was just another 100m but it was so much more than that.
Five
It took so much more than that.
