"You did so good!" I ran up to him as he wiped his forehead off with a towel. He and the other boys were backstage hydrating and socializing after their big debut.
Harry gave me small smile and I stood tall, pulling his shirt with my fingers so he would lean down and give me a sweaty kiss.
"I'm glad you liked it," he snaked his arms around my waist holding my torso to his. "Did you see Steve?"
"Your dad? Yeah, I didn't know you still had contact with him," I looked down in-between us and pushed away the urge to snap at him. It really hurt my feelings that he had kept a relationship with that piece of garbage for the past four years but not me.
"He's not my dad," he snapped instead, rolling his eyes, dropping his arms from my waist, and walking back to the hallway. I swallowed the uneasiness away and looked around the room at all the happy individuals. Dean was in the corner with a lady he had his arm wrapped around. Finn and Lenny were laughing with some of their family members around the couch area and it made me realize, I probably was one of the only constant things in Harry's life right now, along with Jade and Kiara.
A tender pull of my elbow brought my attention back to Harry and I smiled when I saw he only left to get a water bottle. He put it to his lips and chugged the whole thing while I watched the muscles in his throat expand and contract. God made him entirely out of the "perfect" ingredient.
"Hey, I know he's not your dad. I wasn't thinking when I said that," I shook my head trying to clear my thoughts and distractions. When I opened my eyes, he was looking back at my face, his hand twirling around a lock of my wavy brown hair.
"I love you," he made butterflies go soaring through my abdomen.
My mouth grew wildly into a smile and I leaned into his chest. "Say it again," I bit my bottom lip and wrapped my arms around his torso.
"I love you," he smirked as he lifted me up and set me back down quickly, making me squeal a little.
"I love you," I kissed his chest and took his hand to follow me out of the backstage area and to all of his new fans.
"How did the audience like it?" Harry whispered when I opened the door with many people standing --no, waiting-- for Harry to arrive.
"Will you sign this?" A mother with three small children at her side stood at the bottom of the door shoving a CD into Harry's face. I watched Harry's eyes light up and his grin become shy.
"Oh sure, yeah," he looked at me and I gave him a nod.
"I'll just be at the table. I'll see you in a bit," I gave him a pat on his behind and he responded politely with a nod in my direction. I sat at my seat and watched him interact with his fans and fellow band members. Dean, Lenny, and Finn were now at the foot of the stage signing and taking pictures with dozens of people.
Girls were wrapping their arms around Harry's waist and some even had the nerve to sneak a kiss to his cheek. I was thankful that he blew them off quickly and moved onto the next picture. The boys were then being pulled away from the growing fanbase and into the room with all of us.
"Pretty insane, huh?" I smiled as Harry and Dean took a seat at the table I shared with Hailey.
"That was crazy!" Harry was exuberant and I had never seen a smile so wide on him that it made me want to dance in joy with the happiness flowing through his veins.
"Mate, I can't believe how many chicks are into us right now! I betcha I could get Taylor Swift's numba now!" Dean talked in slurring slang and it was starting to get hard to follow him as he continued on about having her feature on one of their songs. As Taylor walked by to congratulate Harry and Dean, Dean made a fool of himself by stammering about how beautiful she was.
