"Tell us son, what happened that night?"
I look up at the officer, a small smile finds my lips "Where do I start? From the beginning?"

I don't know how long I was sitting there—staring off into space as the cold breeze hits my cheeks. I sniffle, my nose growing runny from the cold air.
"Minho, we've been looking for you everywhere"
Jeongin's voice made me look up and immediately my mood was brought up as the boy smiles brightly down at me.
I give him a small smile "Sorry, The weather is really nice, I couldn't resist"
Jeongin looks around and nods slowly before sitting down. His eyes slowly go to his hands that are fiddling with one another on the table, "What do you need Jeongin?" I ask, knowing the boy needed something to ask.
"Well—" He starts but was interrupted when Chan and Seungmin walk up to the table. Our attention goes to a laughing Seungmin.
"You won't believe what Chan just told me"
"What was it?" Jeongin asked, I look towards the boy that had platinum blonde hair. The hair color made him look even paler especially as the cold weather rolled in, his cheeks were a light pink tint along with the tip of his nose.
"He thinks the Boogeyman killed Mr. Cosbey last year"
I snort and shake my head. "What?" Jeongin looks between us. "I thought so too" He spoke seriously.
"See, I ain't the only one" Chan sits down next to Jeongin and crosses his arms dramatically.
I look at Seungmin and He looks at me before he both laugh loudly.
"He had a heart attack, he wasn't murdered"
"Yeah for all we know the Boogeyman only vandalizes the town, he doesn't kill," Seungmin says, sitting beside me as I nod.
"We don't know that," Jeongin says as he leans into the table. "Rumor has it he killed his whole family and ran away"
"Then we would know who it was if that did happen"
"These are bottomless theories, no proof so not true"
Chan huffs "That's not how things work"
"Why are you feeding into these rumors anyways, you'll only scare yourself Channie," I say jokingly, leaning over the table and rubbing his shoulder—Chan slapping my hand away.
"I'm not scared, I'm just scared to be the next target. What if he burns my house while I'm asleep?" Chan says with wide eyes "Imagine burning while sleeping?"
Jeongin grimaces and I chuckle "What makes you believe you'll be the target?"
"Nobody knows who or what they will go after, stop worrying about it already, it's just a man in a silly mood every Halloween who decides to fuck up an already fucked up town," Seungmin says, smiling at the end "No biggy"
Chan nods and stares into nothingness, "No biggy" He mumbles.
My focus goes back to Jeongin "Hey what did you want to tell me earlier?"
Jeongin looks at me and the others "Well I wanted to throw a party at the lake house but my parents need to think I'm staying the night at yours or they won't allow me" He starts, his eyes practically begging
"They will call my parents and find out you aren't there so—"
"You already said your parents won't be home"
Oh yeah, I totally forgot my parents are leaving for a business trip. I sigh and nod slowly "Fine"
Jeongin jumps up "Oh my god, thank you. Thank you. Thank you.", a smirk finds his face as he slowly sits down. "Now tell me you'll come?"
I look down and shrug.
"It's at the lake house, on Halloween, it's gonna be a blast Minho," Seungmin says.
I look to Chan "Your going? You're not scared this Boogeyman might make an appearance?"
Jeongin grabs onto Chan "Don't try to trip him out so he won't go, he will be our babysitter since he doesn't drink, right Chan?"
Chan looks nervously at Jeongin and nods "Yeah, sure"
I roll my eyes "I'll think about it but don't wait for me"
"C'mon, let loose, get laid, and have fun," Seungmin says and the others laugh loudly.

I walk into my house and into the quietness. I should be used to it by now but I wasn't. Every day I'd wish it was different, I wish I'd walk in here smell fresh food cooking or at least see lights on. That's all I ask, for maybe some sort of movement to be in this house—some sort of sound. All I hear is my footsteps and my breathing.
The house was cold, it was always cold because if I didn't put on the heat nobody would. I step into the kitchen and notice a note on the counter next to a card with my mom's name on it.
"I left you the card to feed yourself. Don't burn the house down before we get back and don't spend the money on unnecessary things - Mom"
"At least she remembered me" I mumbled, grabbing the card and leaving the kitchen. I go into the living room and throw myself on the couch, grabbing the remote and switching on the tv to a random movie that played.
Ѽ
I walk into the local diner, it was the best in town and got really packed, especially on the weekends but since it was only Thursday night it wasn't as full.
A few booths were taken up but I made my way to the last one that was by the window, it was my favorite spot.
I didn't look over the diner, I never wanted to catch someone's eye because that would be embarrassing.
"Hello, What can I get for you?" I look up, not needing to look at the menu as I already knew what I wanted.
I smile politely at the girl "Just a burger and strawberry shake"
She nods and writes it down, looking back up at me "I'll have that right out"
"Thank you"
It wasn't long before she came back with my order, not feeling so hungry I pull out my phone and scroll through my social media mindlessly while eating the fries and not noticing a group coming my way until I felt their presence.
Hesitantly looked up to see two unknown boys sliding into the booth seat in front of me and another beside me, the fourth one grabs a chair from a table and sits down at the edge of the table.
"Hi there"
