'Tis Chapter Two (it's so much longer than the first one).

*Chris's POV*
Thump. Thump. Thump. My heart begen to pound softer, and my adrenaline-high had faded. I felt a lump in my throat. I tried to force it down, but it just stuck there. And then I noticed the blood- there wasn't much, just a small, red stream trickling out of Parker's ear and onto the tile. He had hit his head pretty hard when he fell.
I looked around me. The classroom had gone dead-silent. Students stood frozen in place, with wide eyes and opened mouths. The teacher stood up suddenly, knocking her chair back several feet.
"Christopher!" She was shocked, I could tell from the way her voice was trembling.
"Office. Now. And someone call 911! He might have a concussion!"
Several of the students (all of them taking Lifeguard as an elective) snapped out of their horror-struck state and popped out their cell phones. The rest just stayed there, unsure of what to do or how to make their bodies move again. A girl in the back of the room- Parker's girlfriend- burst into tears.
I reached down and grabbed my backpack off of my seat, sliding it onto one shoulder as I picked up my phone from the floor. It had flew out of Parker's hand when I hit him. I was relieved to see that it wasn't broken, but it had a long scratch along the side. Well it was in better condition than Parker. He looked bad. I wondered if he was a coma... but had I really hit him that hard? I tried not to think about it as I walked across the room, pulling my hood low over my forehead. I could feel the cold tingle of twenty pairs of eyes follow me out the door. I crossed my arms over my chest and tried not to shake as I followed my English teacher down the long, empty hall. As long as she was here, I couldn't escape or run away. I was screwed.

Two hours had passes since I had knocked out Parker. Two whole hours, and I still didn't know what had become of him. Don't get me wrong, I hated Parker, but what if I had... killed him? I hadn't hit him that hard, right? I shuddered and pulled the earbuds out of my ears, standing up and leaving my backpack on the overly-comfy chair in the school's main office. I could hear the indistinct sound of men's raised voices coming from the principal's office.
My dad was in there. I heard a loud pounding sound- probably one of them hitting their fist on the table- and then an angry exclamation. They had been at it like this since my dad had arrived, and that was nearly 45 minutes ago. He had been called in from work, and when he got here, he was furious. He didn't even look at me, he just stormed into the principal's office, and well, you know the rest.
I was desperate to hear what they were saying, but that was nearly impossible- the receptionist with the squinty eyes was glaring at me from behind her computer monitor. I sat back down and tried my best to make out the voices. Why was my father yelling? It wasn't like him to stand up for me. But perhaps he was just angry, and needed a reason to shout. I was not looking forward to going home. The large, analog clock above the door read 2:05. School had ended five minutes ago. I pulled out my phone and texted Alice.
'Can't meet you today. Big problem. Tell you later.' I pressed 'send'. I knew she'd worry, but I'd call her when I got home. Unless Robin (Alice's friend, not mine) told her first.
The principal's office had been quiet for a minute now, and I saw the doorknob move, as someone came out- my father. It looked like his rage had subsided. I was a little relieved. Following close behind him was my principal, looking rather ruffled and defeated after fighting with my dad. He came up to me and handed me a slip of paper.
