Adventure

In the morning you sit up and stretch getting out of bed and immediately changing. You throw on dark blue jeans, a red and white striped long sleeve shirt, black belt, and a black headband. You go to the bathroom to brush your teeth and curl your hair. As you finish curling your hair you cover your entire scalp with hairspray. You go to kitchen to grab your walkman out of your backpack. Today is the perfect day to journal and listen to your favorite tracks. You open your backpack reaching in to grab your walkman. Feeling around for it and not finding it you frantically take everything out. Not finding it there you go to your room to the bag you took to the party. You open it and start taking everything out of it and still nothing. Then it hits you... you left it at Billy's house... You took it out to put your clothes in your bag leaving it in that girls room. You groan as you get up looking around for Dustin. "Dusty!?" you yell out for him as he rounds the corner of the hallway. "Yeah...?" he asks looking confused but ready to go somewhere. "Do you know that red head girl?" you ask frantically walking up to him. "You mean Max?" he tilts his head "YES! HER!" you smile "why...?" he questions you. "I think i know her brother and we have an assignment we have to work on together for class" you lie. Dustin begins to walk to the front door "well she might be in the adress book you can check" he says closing the door. You quickly go to the kitchen opening up the book and going down the list. You found it and quickly jot it down on a piece of paper as you run out the door. You set off vaguely reminiscent on the way you first got there. "22..." you mumble to yourself turning a corner "6..." you mumble again as you turn another corner seeing the house. Biking up to the house you park your bike next to the garage and knock on the door. Hearing loud music which you could only assume was Billy was home. No one answers for a while then Max opens the door "Hi... uh I think i forgot my walkman in your room can I just check?" you ask her. "Yea come on in!" she says cheerfully as you walk in you see Billy benching. He immediately stops as you hear the metal drop against the bar. "HEY!" he yells at Max getting up even though it felt directed towards you. "I didn't say she could come in did i?" he says grabbing your wrist holding it up in the sky as the doorbell goes off again. "What the hell let me go!" you snap at him "just get my walkman and ill be out of your hair." you say struggling to get out of his grip.

Max goes to the door opening it and shutting it leaving you and Billy completely alone. "Oh no you aren't you still owe me something," he says just tightening his grip. "Ugh to be your girlfriend?!" you snap at him "i know that already!" you yell. "Stop struggling or I'll break your wrist" he says through gritted teeth as his grip feeling like your wrist was about to break. You could feel tears well up in your eyes as stop struggling. Standing in his living chocking back tears Billy speaks "Yes, and you can have your walkman back when you fulfill what you owe me." You take a deep breath "ok.." Billy lets go of your wrist as Max comes back in. "What took you so long?" Billy asks max as you slip past them going into Max's room. As you frantically search for your walkman in her room you hear their conversation stop. You go over to her window opening and looking down seeing Lucas. "Y/n!?" he says looking at you confused "shhhh" you put your your finger to your mouth. You look down seeing a small roof from the basements window coming out of the ground. You turn around seeing Max in her room now as you smile awkwardly at her. "Y/n...?" she walks up to you "can i just go out this way and leave?" you ask her. She looks back and nods as you get out of the window jumping onto the small roof then the grass. As you get to your feet you see Max doing the same "come on" Lucas says to Max. "Where are you guys going?" you ask him as Max quickly gets onto the back of his bike. "Nothing" Lucas quickly replies as he starts to bike off. Curious on what is going on you run to your bike and follow him. You keep a close distance from them to make sure you're not seen. They don't seem to be going anywhere near civilization they just keep getting further and further away. Eventually you make it to this junk yard full of broken down cars and metal. "I said well done!" Lucas yells to Steve and Dustin as you pull up behind them. "What are you doing here!?" Dustin yells out as Lucas jumps turning to look behind him. "What!? I can't join the fun!?" you yell out to Dustin as Lucas sighs walking down the hill with Max. You get off your bike tossing it to the side with Lucas's. You look out over the junkyard seeing a pile of meat in the middle of it and Steve moving metal to this rusty bus. You walk down the hill and up to Steve deciding to ask what is happening. "Where preparing for an attack" you look at him confused "against what?" Steve lifts a sheet of metal throwing it over to Max. "this dog like creature i don't know Dustin had it" you roll your eyes knowing exactly what he's talking about. "I know exactly what it it" Steve looks back at you and flashes you a smile "great" he walks off going to speak to Dustin. You go up to Max and start helping her move things. It soon reaches nightfall you all pile into the rusting bus and the door shuts. You wait around for a while but nothing happens just silence. You decide to climb up the ladder to join Max and Lucas on the roof. "Anything yet?" you ask as you sit on your knees placing your hands on the tires that surround the roof of the bus. "Nothing" Lucas replies as you see Steve walk out of the bus. "What the hell is he doing...?" you ask as you squint to see him in the fog. "Wait... there's one of them" you point to your right as you look to Steve seeing another one. "3:00!!" Lucas yells out to Steve as you turn around to climb down the latter Lucas following you. Getting to the floor level you run to Dustin holding his shoulder as he yells "STEVE!! ABORT! ABORT!" you watch as Steve runs to the bus.

He makes inside and covers the door with a giant metal sheet as they attack the bus door. "Are they rabid or something!?" Max yells as the alien's begin to shake the bus. From the small glimpse you saw they looked like grey fleshy dogs with claws and millions of teeth. Max stands and the bottom of the latter looking up you look over at her as she lets out a shrill scream. Steve moves her out of the way but doesn't hit anything. Before you knew what was even happening it all stops you let go of Dustin's shoulder and watch as Steve moves to the front of the bus. He moves the metal out of the way and steps out of the bus. "So what?" you follow behind him "is it over? are they gone?" you ask him. "Steve scared 'em off?" Dustin says now standing behind Max in the bus doorway "No... No way..." Steve instantly replied. He turns around with his bad on his shoulder "They're going somewhere" you look at him in disbelief. "Where!?" you shout your arms open wide "I don't know..." he sighs shaking his head then stopping to look up at you. You, Dustin, Lucas, Max, and Steve stand in silence trying to comprehend what just happened. You guys regain your bearings and and begin the walk home. You and Lucas walk next to your bikes as you follow the train tracks. Steve and Dustin talk about "Dart" molting his skin as you follow behind them "When's he gonna molt again?" Max asks "It's gotta be soon" Dustin replies. "Yeah and he's goons eat a lot more than just cats" Steve adds on before Lucas stops him. "Wait a cat!?" Lucas drops his bike and grabs Dustin's shoulder turning him around stopping him in his tracks. They begin to fight about how Dart ate Mews you sigh putting your head down still holding onto your bike handles. They start yelling louder about how Max is a stranger to their party before Steve speaks up "hey guys...?" you look up. "GUYS!" Steve yells stopping the yelling as you begin to hear screeching. Steve, Lucas, and Dustin begin to run towards the sound leaving you and Max on the tracks. "Hello?" Max calls out to them as she puts her arms up. You stay next to your bike "shit..." Max says following after them "wait up!" you yell out to her dropping your bike next to the tracks. You didn't want to leave it but you had no choice. You make your way up with Max and rejoin the group on top of the hill. "What is it now...?" you ask walking up next to Steve. Lucas speaks up "it's the lab..." you squint to see it in the distance covered in fog. " They're going back home..."  Lucas says putting down his binoculars. You guys begin walking down the hill towards the labs entrance. You see two people at the labs entrance "Jonathan!? Nancy!?" Steve shouts as they shout out his same at the same time. You wait at the entrance waiting for the barbwire fence to open. You look behind you seeing Dustin and Jonathan fighting to try and get it open. You hear a metallic sound as a a buzzer beeps. You turn around to see the barbwire gate opening. Great...
