You thank Steve and Nancy taking your bike out of the trunk and placing it against the house. You walk through the door drenched to the core feeling the dried mud stick to your skin. Dragging yourself to your room you quickly rip off your wet clothes. You grab clean ones you put on a towel going to the bathroom reaching out and turning on the shower. The hot water begins to steam up the entire bathroom stepping into the shower you feel it hit your skin. You feel the dried mud falls off your skin effortlessly going down the drain. Finishing up you get out of the shower drying off and placing the towel on the rack. You grab the clothes you brought putting on your favorite oversized shirt your dad gave you and some comfy shorts. You go back to your room and pick up the soaking clothes that have been marinating on the carpet. Grabbing them from the floor you walk to the laundry room and throw them onto the floor hearing a splat. Turning around you go and knock on Dustin's door "who is it?!" he yells "it's me y/n!" you yell back. "Come in" he replied as you open the door "also no need to yell at me i'm not deaf..." he practically spits glaring at you. "Come on i was just kidding around" you punch his arm lightly and sit next to him. "So what's this?" you point to his notes in his notebook. "Oh well! Me, Lucas, Will, and Mike are going as the ghostbusters for halloween!" he smiles happily. "Awww that's so cute!" you reach for his cheeks "it's not cute y/n its cool!" he says backing away. "Sorry dusty!" you put your arms up in the air and pretending to be caught. "I'll be back i need to go feed mews" Dustin gets up shutting his notebook and walking out to the kitchen. Now that you think about it you totally forgot about halloween, and it's already the 29th of October. "I only have 2 days to plan an outfit..." your thoughts then get cut off by Dustin's yelling "Dinners ready y/n!!" you let out a sigh before replying back "coming!" you walk to the kitchen. After dinner you lay in your bed as you contemplate what you should do for halloween. You heard from Nancy on the car that there was a party... Going to a party in a new town would be a good way to meet new people. As you think about what to do you begin to drift off to sleep. Slowly your eyes crack open, the room is freezing almost like it's below zero. You sit up looking around you everything is covered in thick vines. Wearily you get out of bed and take a few steps towards your door. Right as you step you feel your feet on a cold slimy floor. "Dustin?" you shout "are you there!?" you shout again each step you took towards the door you could hear a slimy slerch. Walking into the hallway it looks the same as your room. You make your way outside to the front yard looking around everything looks dead, there is that ash like stuff in the air you saw earlier. "It's freezing" you mutter to yourself as your teeth start to chatter.

"Hello? Is anyone there?!" you yell out, before looking up in the sky and seeing this spider like monster. You step back tripping on something most likely a slimy vine. Just as you feel yourself fall you wake up in a cold sweat. You look over to see Dustin next to you "are you alright y/n...?" he asks you looking concerned. "Yea just an odd dream that's it!" you nervously laugh it off. "Ok... well i'm heading out i'll see you after school!" he says while walking out of your room. You swing your feet over your bed to the ground feeling the soft carpet was a nice change from the cold slimy floor. You look over to your side table to check the time "6:00 am" the clock ticks quietly. "Might as well get dressed for the day..." you think to yourself. You get up and grab your bra while putting it on you pick out your favorite accessories. You put on a red turtleneck sweater layering it with a silver dragonfly necklace. Grabbing jeans you put them on threading your black belt through the loops holes. Finishing up your put on a shorter silver heart necklace going out to the kitchen. Opening the cupboard you grab your favorite pop tart flavor opening the packaging. You hear some rustling and around to see Mrs.Henderson. "You scared me" you let out a small laugh before taking a bite of your pop tart. "I'm sorry dear i just got a call from Nancy she asked if you're going to the party for halloween?" you stop chewing for a second. You remember Nancy telling you about it at lunch yesterday but you didn't think she was serious about you going. You quickly make up your mind and yell out "i'll go aunt Claudia" you call out to her but got no response. You shrug assuming she went back to the phone. Finishing your pop tart you grab your backpack from the kitchen table and go outside to grab your bike. You ride to school feeling the cold air in your lungs but not enjoying it as much as yesterday. Now it just reminds you of that place you visited in your dreams. Getting to school was the easy part surviving another day was another. Another day helped you get more comfortable with your classes plus the day went by faster than you thought. After school you wait for Dustin by the bike racks and see Billy waiting by his camero. He doesn't immediately get into his car peal out of the parking lot which was surprising to you. Just then a red headed girl walks up to him with a skateboard in hand. You see him angrily tell her something then they both get into the car. He then pulls out of the parking lot completely disregarding anyone's safety. At this point you notes that it wasn't unusual for him to be reckless. After Billy leaves you wait for Dustin for a while longer until most of the parking lot is desolate. You decide to bike home alone and meet him at home.
