Nightmare x annoying foolish reader 🧸fluff🧸

I was gonna do bratty but I decided to do annoying since their technically the sam.

nightmare was reading a book as he nothing better to do, except maybe give you attention but he had enough of your annoyingness and was ignoring you in turn for your behaviour.
You were sitting next to him you had your head on his shoulder but he couldn't care less as it was not that very annoying it was actually nice but as if he was gonna admit it.

"Love you"you say as you look at him, he doesn't look at you nor does he answer but after a minute he said
"I love you too. But your very irritating"he looks at you seeming annoyed on the last part
"What can I say it's my specialty"you grin not regretting your choice of words
"It's a very stupid specialty"he rolls his eye light and looks back at the page.
"Ehh I'm gonna go to a random and chill do you want to come?"you ask as you put on your jacket
"No you can go by yourself"he looks at you seeming more annoyed for daring to even ask.
"Alright suit yourself" you put on your Boots and jump through the portal you made.

You walk around, you pass by a bakery, you check your pockets to see if you have any money luckily you do

~a few minutes later~

You walk out the bakery with a donut
As you munching on your new found treat you noticed two larger men following you although it wasn't obvious but you could tell.
After a minutes of walking down the street you thought that you would turn a corner and run.
But when you looked back to see if they were still following they were gone as if they were never following you. So you just assumed that you thought they were following you when really they just walking down the street.

Out of no where you get pulled into an alleyway
A few moments later you ended up get jumped by the two larger men while also getting your money stolen, you tried to fight back but failed I mean they were bigger then you and its not like you could magic as you didn't have that type of magic and even if you did you wouldn't have enough time to spawn some.

You get up and use the wall to help you up, you were bruised bleeding. You had cuts all over you when bruises but luckily most of it could be covered except your face, you had red mark on your mark that was most likely gonna turn purple and blue in a few hours. Which wasn't gonna be fun to deal with. And it's not like you could heal yourself as you 1: didn't have that type of magic 2:don't think it's possible to heal yourself with your magic although. it would probably depend on the person

You grab your mask from your pocket and put it on, You open a portal to your room, almost immediately you collapse, you cringe at the loud noise you made, but also cringed at the pain in your leg as they had stomped on it, there Was a chance part of it was broken I might it most likely was as it was hurting like hell and you could barely walk on it or stand on it.

You get up and look at your door then to your room praying that the rest are asleep and didn't hear it.
You struggle to walk over to your bed but you get to it and look at your injuries.
You look in your draw on the side of your bed, nothing much but a few bandages and nothing else, looks like you would to go the bathroom.

You head to the bath room and clean your injures and also disinfect it, now the hard. Part. The red mark on your face. You would have to play it off as. You accidentally hit your face or something and pray they fall for it, but nightmare was gonna be hard to convince.

You patch up and wobble a little when getting up, maybe it was sprained?

Hopefully.

~the next morning ~ you get up from your bed. Forgetting that you had even been jumped, also it was gonna be a pain in the ass working today. Nightmare had no idea you had a job, there was a lot of things you didn't tell nightmare about.

You try to figure out how to play off your leg being hurt,
"Maybe i can say I fell on it funny, yeah that will work! Hopefully..."you say honestly praying it would work.

You walk down stairs to eat something and use the railing for support.
You head into the kitchen, and grab something from the fridge.
You were about to eat when
"Hey noticed you never came back last night or even said something about it, where were you?" Fuck, it was cross.
You spin around and say. "Just got a little sidetracked, ya know happens from time to time"you awkwardly chuckle at the end
"Mmhm"cross looks at you not believing you one bit.

"If you got so called 'sidetracked' why is there a bruise on your face hmm? Oh and your harmed leg Care to explain that?"he says
You look away trying to not answer that.
"Look, i won't tell nightmare if that's what your worried about."he says after Sighing
"I just fell over and fell on it funny thats all!"you say
".....okay"he walks off Obviously giving up.

You sigh a sigh of relief and eat your food.
You knew would have to go back out again to do your job butt
Just before you were about to walk through the portal you were stoped by a Boney hand.
"Y/n, where were you last night?"nightmare asks
"Oh shit oh fuck oh shit oh fuck oh shit!"you think to yourself
"Uhh had stroll at the park and got sidetracked?"you say trying to hide the truth of what happened last night

"Y/n I am going to ask you again and once only. Where. The. Fuck. Were. You.?"his grip tightens on your shoulder right where one of the bruise were.
You flinch from the pain
The grip he had on you was normally not painful and wasn't any tighter From the other times and he knew that, so he knew something was wrong.

"Y/n look at me." "Why?" "I said look at me damn it."he says annoyed with you not listening properly, which was unlike you
You turn around slowly, and the blaze of anger was filled in his eye lights his anger was basic suffocating, meaning everyone else in the castle could feel it.
"Who did that?"
Nightmare then looked down to see you were leaning on one leg meaning it was hurt.
He looks back up at you
"I just fell over and landed on my leg funny"you say
"And what about your face?"he says his eye socket narrows
"Just hit my face by accident with a.....poll?"you say praying to lord that he takes it anddd he could feel your nervousness
"Y/n cut the crap tell me who did it and I know you didn't do it yourself because I know your not that stupid to be running in to a poll so fast that you bruise and you know it's hard to bruise your face like that, yes the leg things seems believable but the fact you just lied to me and is making me think your lying about that too. Now. Tell. Me. Who. Did. It."he says.
"I umm- uhh."
"Y/n I swear."
"Okay! Okay! Fine I will tell you"you put your arms up in a kinda back up self defence thing
He gives you the 'are you serious face' (like the photo at the top!)

"I may or may not have been followed by to larger men then after a few minutes they disappeared and I kept walking. Then I got pulled into a alleyway and may or may not have been jumped by them and also got my money stolen even though I did try to fight back but they were bigger then and had a bigger advantage then me!"you said it super quick and clear
Nightmare breaths in and then out.
"Do you remember what they looked like?"
"Not, really."
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"I was worried you would be mad at me..."you say
His anger was gone just concern.
Con...cern?...
He was concerned?
Why?
I mean you were a human it doesn't matter if you get hurt or not..
"Let's go to my room I will heal you, actually what was the name of the au?"
You didn't think about it and told him
"Thank you"he picks you up with his tendril and brings you up to his room.

You sit in his lap as he heals you and you read a book out loud to him.

"You really are foolish you know that right?"he says as he kisses your forehead so you can still read.
He enjoyed it when you read to him.

You later found out that, that au was destroyed, so you had to look in another au for a job.
