3. Dibs

With the turtles out of the way, which was meant in more than one way, we could finally have some time to breath out.

April allowed me to stay at her flat, as I had eaten nothing today. Her family cooked enough that they wont mind having me around. At the same time, we could get to know each other and talk about the projects for the next few weeks.

At the meantime, another discussion got to a whole new level in the sewers.

The boys argued in the lair about me joining their family. Donnie sees it as a bad idea, mentioning my destruction to his precious purple jacket. Mikey and Raph were thrilled to know another girl besides April, wanting to go out with me to Alberto Land and eat pizza together. As for Leo, he had bigger plans for me, looking deep in thoughts at his room. Donatello knew this look, "Okay what are you up to?"

"Noooooothing?" The smirk widened.

"Leo we all know that smirk and we know that you know that you're up to something. Spill!"

The blue turtle looked all hurt at purple, "Don't you trust me brother?"

"Absolutely...not!"

Talking about harsh, thought Mikey. Like Raph could read his mind, he nodded in agreement. Leonardo shrugged at that, thinking out loud, "I wonder what her type is like?"

"AHA! You were planning something!"

"Type Leon?" Raph was all ears on that one. Mikey glared at that, "Are you thinking of hooking up with her?"

"Nooo...of course not..."

His brothers kept glaring at him, making the silence unbearable.

"Just to be sure, if I...could be her type..."

His brothers sighted out loud, "He so wants to!"

"So what? I like her"

Donnie snorted at that, "Scoff! You only met her today."

"I guess it is destiny"

Mickey puffed up his cheeks, "She doesn't even know you exist"

"I feel that we connected"

Raph was close to hit his blue brother, "I connect you in a minute Leo. April wants us to stay away from her new friend. Remember what happened to the last time?"

"Hmmm...nope...doesn't ring a bell..."

"April wanted a normal day..."

"Mmmm...nope...nothing..."

A vein popped on reds face, "Tsunita!"

"Ohhh...that's different."

"How is that different?!" Donnie tries to explain this operation: normal business but Raph told him to keep his mouth shut. He was ruining red's point, "Leo, luckily Tsunita was a Yokai but this girl is an actual human".

"How do you know?"

Annoyed by his cocky brother, he stomped his feet, "Because I said so!"

"Okay relax mamamia."

"Just keep your distance to her until April gives us the green lights."

His smirk went back up, as his brothers shouted, "LEO!"

"Okay okay...wait for the green light...can I at least watch her from the distance?"

"NO!"

"FINE, but one thing is clear. I call dibs first."

Raph was close to punch him through the next wall, "You can't dib on a girl Leo!"

Donatello agrees,"Especially on April's friend"

"Remember the rules" said Mikey, disappointed that he didn't think of that first.

They all were suspicious, while Leo thought of something. His smile grew into a wide smirk, "Say Donnie, as the more reliable brother, shouldn't you be the first to have a girlfriend?"

Purple doesn't trust his brother but couldn't help but be flattered by the compliment, "Well as a matter of fact I am the reliable one of you all..." his eyebrows collided, "...what's the catch Leo?"

"No catch" he smiled innocent, "But this girl should be yours to have."

Donnie thought for a minute, seeing his brother rock back and forth like a little kid.

"Well I don't trust her yet, but I do think I might be her type. An intelligent and good-looking..."

"DIBS!"

"Hey what was that for?!"

Leo smirked devious, "Mikey said we only call dibs on three things, one was on Donnie's stuff. Since he accepted her as his girl, she was his sooooo....DIBS~!"

The brother didn't find that fair but couldn't say anything about that either. He beats them fair and square. Raph folded his arms together, "I hope she wont even look at your shell." Mikey agreed on this, "Followed by giving you cold shoulders". Donnie grinned wide, "Hopefully she rejects you big time...ahh that would be heavenly to watch."

"You are just jelly because you didn't call first."

"Oh, it is on Bro!" Raphael took this as a challenge as his voice turned to a deep growl, "she won't be yours"

Mikey nodded while going into battle mode, "Out of my way, because Dr. Love will get her first."

"Scoff! I shall have her, so kiss my shell"

Leo loved the atmosphere, smelling a good challenge, "Hey what about the rule not to go over a dib?"

Red's voice went low, "To hell with that...this is war..."

"Raph what was it with 'waiting for the green light thingy from April'?

"It is war Leon" said Mikey, "No mercy..."

..."no surrender" added Donnie.

His brothers are dead serious...despite of going behind Aprils back.

Leo hasn't seen his brothers this pumped up ever since the last lair games, fearing that he might be able to lose..."pfff, as if!"

On the other side of the big city, we had the time of our life.

April's family welcomed me with open arms, enjoying a wonderful get together. We talked about so many random stuffs that time was flying by. Because of this, we decided to make this from a nice evening dinner, to a slumber party. She gave me some PJ's and made some space on her bed. For the rest of the night, we spend watching movies on her tablet, while her weird pet cat sat on my head. She calls him mayhem and seem to like me the moment I entered the flat. April was glad that I didn't panic at the weird behavior or teleporting out of the blue. I took it as a magic trick, not asking any uncomfortable questions.

Because I will get enough opportunities to do so.

One, or should I say four things were starring through the window, making April jump up in fear. I stared at her confused, "What's with you A.P. You act like you seen a ghost" looking at the tablet, "...we don't even watch a horror movie."
