7. Stuck inbetween

The purple dragons meant business. I was told that they are already high-tech criminals, but going as far to murder us?

From the corner of my eyes, I could see April fall to the ground, while one of the drones flew above her head. Scared what happens, my legs froze on the spot. Feeling like a coward, not able to help my friend in need didn't make it any better. The drone aimed at her...

...and...missed?

Every shot missed April by a few inches. Stopped by fear, I didn't hear another drone sneaking up behind me. Pulling my hands up in defense, it shot passed me.

Something wasn't quite right.

They didn't want to hurt us...just scare us...but why? April couldn't believe her luck, taking cover with me. Her expression was just as puzzling as mine. What was the whole point of this nonsense?

About the same time, another massive sound made us jump. First, we heard screams, then a loud slam. The turtles have arrived, although with their heads first on the ground. Leo on the other hand walked out of the portal like it was nothing. His brothers have fully recovered in seconds and ready to get on his throat, as a drone appeared. Donny recognized the logo of the dragons, "Of course its them." Not feeling impressed by that thing, he pulled his techboo and prepared to attack. Luckily for him, ti was the wisest choice. Once that drone recognized him through a scanner, it shot lasers at him. Unlike us, they didn't miss. Donny had to dodge them not to get killed. On panic he ran around, only for his brother to realize, it only shot at purple. The just watched how their poor brother was screaming for help. Leo held his brother's shoulder, "You guys take care of Don Ton, I get April and her friend."

"So, you can look like a hero?!" snapped Raph not liking the idea of separating the mad dogs. Blue assumed that they could take care of it all, until he was pulled back by his bandana. His big brother won't let him have his way. And besides, he had a plan involving Leo's sword.

April heard the scream, knowing exactly who sounded like that, "Donny?!"

"April, we need to get out of here!"

Nodding she held her thumb up, "Don't worry, I have a plan." Despite every door was closed and the boys guarded them, she knew what to do. Tsunita was part of that plan, while I was told to stand back. Leo on the other hand, was to be upfront, ready to make the portal. But something was not right, the drones just followed Donny, nothing that Mikey has done worked out to cause distraction. Leo watched with interest, as his eyes noticed a small detail, "Hey Raph, since when does Donny have a pin on his jacket?" They both watched, seeing the small device on Donny's jacket, handing on his back. It seems to be transmitter for the drones to follow. It blinked purple. Mikey had his task, given by his big brother to get that transmitter. With Donny constantly running around, it took some time to catch up to him. In fact, he needed something to stop him.

And I was the obstacle he slammed into.

He turned the corner and bam...right into me. Lying on me with his head spinning, I was trapped underneath him. The drone came closer, aiming for the turtle's neck. It would end us both.

"Back of metal pigeon!!!"

The drone exploded into tiny pieces, close enough before it could give us the final blow. Mikey stood before us before waving sweet, "Hi~"

Taken back by his cute smiley face, I waved back, "Hello"

He helped getting Donatello off me, placing him against the wall. With the transmitter in Mikey's possession, Ralph's plan can be continued. The orange turtle gave me one more look before leaving, "I leave Donny in your hands, okay?

"But"

"Thank youuuuuu~"

"You're welcome? I guess" Yeah, like I had a choice.

Raphael was glad to see Mikey save and sound, before holding him up by his shell, "Wait, where's Donny?!"

"Relax he is with April's friend."

"WHAAAAA!" blue stood there dumbstruck, "Why is he with her and not me?!"

"Because you are supposed to make that damn portal Leo!" And he had to hurry, Raph's plan was about to get messy. With the transmitter in Mikeys hand, it was only a matter of minutes until a dozen of drones caught him. The little turtle had to jump through several portals, so the drones flew out and straight into the walls on the other side. With them out the way, they didn't have anything to fear.

But I did.

Kendra stepped out of the shadows, holding a taser in one hand, "Now for our final revenge..." her voice went from menacing to a whisper, "...Donny..."

"Back off!" I screamed, acting like a shield for purple. But that didn't stop her to attack. With the right move, she went passed my hands and hit me with the taser. The pain was unbearable. So badly that I feel unconscious, collapsing towards her feet. Kendra smirked triumphant, "Victory is ours".

April and Tsunita heard the destruction of the drones, finding Raph, Mikey, and Leo in the middle of the main hall. They couldn't resist to do a group hug before getting back to business. She informed them about the closed doors and that I was hiding for the time being. For Leo a clear sing to get me, whistling away.

"LEO...come back here!"

"Come on! I want to see her Raph"

"We go together, as a team." Blue wanted to protest, until he heard something move. They heard this sound way too often, "Donny is coming!"

April heard from the distance a light chuckle, not liking the sound of that, "Mikey, this is not Donny."

"Exactly" added Kendra, flying with Donatello's battle shell while holding his techboo, "I would love to play with you guys, but we got other great plans to achieve, and his tech will get us there." They stole his gadgets before and didn't hesitate to do it again. Her team members left their post and headed towards her. They boys had to watch how they escaped with Donny's tech. Raph ordered Leo to do another portal...only to hear nothing.

He wasn't anywhere to be found.

"Leo? Leo!!!!!! Mikey where's Leo...Mikey? Oh, come on!!!!!"

Only April and Tsunita were with him. He needed a new plan and fast. Thankfully for April, she got an idea, one that she used before. She faced Tsunita, "hey is it just me or is it your birthday today?". The yokai smiled wide, knowing what she is asking for. April looked back at red, "Raph makes it a firework!" The turtle grabbed on Tsunita's hand and threw her up into the air.

Close by Donny woke up from the collision, only to find his shell exposed, "What happened?" his staff was gone, and I was on the ground. Purple crawled over to me, as a bright light appeared before us. What he saw didn't mean any good.
