New roomies (Leo x Reader) (on hold)

31. Oh boy...

It tried my best to keep my head over the water also the stream got stronger. Leo had to be fast to reach me. Only in a matter for seconds I would be gone for good as I fell down and almost into the unknown. Thankfully Leo could grab my hand and make a portal underneath us.

We appeared on a large bed...next to a giant rat.

I lied underneath Leo while he was on all fours on top of me. Splinter blinked a few time before he realized that we were both soaked to the bone in disgusting sewer water. Once Splinter let us in his room Blue hugged me like there is no tomorrow, "I thought I lost you for good."

"Yeah that stupid cat and that ring...oh no the ring!"

Leo was surprised that I was in distraught that I lost his order starting to cry. Blue held my shoulder firm, "Hey, hey, Hey! You did what you can. I am sure right now my brothers will find that stupid cat and get me that ring back". I nodded in response, "Why did you buy a ring in the first place?"

He held his hand out like a queen, "For my finger~ of course"

"A wedding ring?"

Leo needed a minute, "Well...ehm...yeah...I...you know...it is never too late to have one."

"You mean when the certain someone comes to your life you have the ring ready?" he was glad that I believed this. I nodded pleased, "I guess it is like wearing condoms in your wallet."

"Wait what?" Blue looked at me in surprise, "Do you?"

"No"

Leo seems to be pleased by this.

"They were too old...I have to get new ones." That used his logic against himself was not what Leo expected but hoped that I will ever use them on anyone but himself. But at the moment he had other problems.

His brothers got into trouble.

Raph followed the cat into a school bus only to get stuck in between the doors. Donnie and Mikey couldn't get him out especially as the little cat got back up. An even bigger one appeared making the turtles shudder. It was Repo Mantis pet cat. They knew Leo's teleportation skills would be useful if he was there. Immediately Mikey called on him to get his shell to them as soon as possible.

Meanwhile I showered and wore clothes Leo has owned from his visit to the wrestling show. Leo looked at me with admiration while Mikey and Donnie were desperately whining on the other line.

"Leo!" screamed Orange with worry.

Donnie followed his example, "Get over here!"

Leo sighted, "Why do they need me to get a little cat?" his eyes looked sad in my direction.

"What wrong Leo?" I asked drying my hair with a towel.

Blue pretended that it was nothing leaving me at the lair. I raised a brow before going to Splinter in the living room, "He sure is getting weirder by the day."

"Who? Blue?"

I nodded sitting beside the chair, "He never tells me anything about how he feels."

"Blue needs time to open up. I remember when I had my first girlfriend...oh boy I couldn't get a single word out...It took over a month till I could speak in full sentences."

"...girlfriend?" was the only reply I could ask.

Splinter needed a minute before he noticed getting all weird himself, "I mean boys get that with any girl not just girlfriend you know." But that didn't leave me from believing that this was an important key to everything, "The date, gifts...and no a ring. Splints, is Leo trying to marry me?" His silence was more than enough. Although it was a sweet gesture I didn't want to get married just yet and not to someone I do not know that long.

"He is really trying hard to do the right thing" said the rat man after a few minutes.

"And I appreciate this but I am not in love with Leo. I see him as a friend, just like his brothers."

"Blue didn't think this through."
I nodded. Seeing my sad face Splinter hoped he could cheer me up, "How about we go out today?" he wore one of Mike's clothes that apparently should make him look like a teenager. I find it awkward but accepted his offer anyway. Waiting for the boys would be terrible and to argue with Leo over his feelings now might end up hurting him even more. I needed time to find the right words.

And the boys need the time to get the right plan.

The cat already noticed Raph in the school bus playing with his spiky shell. Leo arrived soon after seeing Donnie making a video, "Seriously D? In a moment like this?"

Purple shrugged, "The viewers seem to like it. Look how they play with Raph shell."

It did look cute if it wasn't for the dangerous situation at hand. Mikey took the Smartphone away, "Okay enough social-media. Leo what is the plan?" They all looked at the school bus as blue smiled, "I got it! Follow me." His advice those to use their bug buster uniform for this, "Mikey use your honey extractor to distract that big cat." Instead of honey Donnie placed Catnip inside the container. Donatello however should use his device to catch the small cat that held the bag with the ring inside.

"And you?" asked Donnie.

Leo smirked "I get Raph out of his misery."

Elsewhere I sat with Splinter at a shoe store. I wasn't in the mood to shop but the rat man certainly was, posing for someone very special. It took me a minute till I realized that it was April. Watching them too argue about our stay was amusing for me but it didn't last. I received a call by the magician Hypno called for a gig tomorrow. We would meet up for the arrangements tonight to discuss the show plans and advertising for the next gigs. I excused myself with the job and left the shop in a hurry.

April still isn't convinced by these mutants that they would take care of me, "I better get the boys on her tail." Splinter pulled her phone down, "Don't do that. We need to talk."
