Art by author, poem originally created for one of the authors stories
Glittering, I saw thee
Magnificent in emerald aglow
A god among the heavens
Liberated upon the windsWisest of serpents
Skin finer than the fruits of the earth
Ruler of the skies
I saw thee cloud adornedTerrifying you soared
Your breath burned like the sun
A banner of your power displayed
In awe of thee I coweredYou lighted upon the earth
It shook as I did
Even the grass bowed before thee
In reverence of a kingUnknown to me, I was seen
My breath betrayed me to thee
Though malevolent you were not
And did not strike me downInstead you slept in my field
My wheat unworthy of your weight
And freely I gave you what I had
Though little it seemed before youBut your voice was my reward
Kindly you were
And to my astonishment; grateful
And spoke with me longIn awe I am of thee
Even years after your meeting
I still look up and wish
One day to repay thy bounty
