~(Y/N)'s POV, a few days later~

Sans wanted me to meet another one of his friends. This one 'wasn't evil, not by a long shot' according to Sans. When he spoke about this friend, he seemed more relaxed. He mentioned his friend was a laid back, but just as nervous about meeting me as I was about meeting Killer. "Don't worry, I'll be cool." Sans seemed to like that. I waited on the couch with Aliza, Papyrus preparing a meal for the guest. It was odd how no matter how much he and Aliza ate, they were always skinny and frail looking.

I heard a voice from outside the door, Sans. Well, my Sans. "Yer gonna be fine. (Y/N), Aliza, an' Paps are totally harmless, 'less ya try an' attack first, haha! ...it was a joke, calm yerself." This guy must be a nervous wreck if he didn't think that was funny. Hell, I thought it was funny. The door opened, and I kept my eyes trained on the TV, which was reporting a body found in the woods not to far from town. Why doesn't that surprise me, those damn woods are evil.

"(Y/N), look! It's the new friend!" Aliza said, jumping up. I was ignoring her, trying to figure out what the hell was going on in those woods. "(Y/N)!!" I kept ignoring her, feeling rage burn in my chest. Those damn fucking woods. "...Ya feelin' okay, (Y/N)?" Sans said, turning off the TV. I flipped my attention to him, trying not to glare. "Yeah. Fine." I got up and looked at this new skeleton. A Sans. He wore a straw hat and overalls. He had an off white long sleeve sweater underneath it, with black and green gardening gloves on his hands.

"Uh..m' name's Farm. It's, uh, nice ta meet ya?" Farm talked close to how Sans did, but with a country accent. Annoying. Just like the damn straw he was flipping in his mouth. "(Y/N). Wish I could say it was a pleasure, but that's a lie. I'm in the middle of something." I got up and grabbed my jacket from the coat rack, since it was getting cold outside. "(Y/N), where are you going? Sans brought his new friend and-" "Aliza, weren't you paying any attention?! A body, in the woods! I want to- No, I need to know what the hell is going on with that!"

"Those...those woods are evil, (Y/N). You know that just like I do...Please, just stay for now. I...I'll go with you. At night. When it's safer." I sighed and slipped my jacket back off, walking over to Farm. He and I were the same height, roughly. I didn't know where to go with the conversation, considering I already had a bad taste in my mouth from him. "How long are you staying for?" "Well, uh, I-I was plannin' on spendin' the night, cuz, uh-" "Okay," I said, walking into the kitchen. I could hear Aliza apologizing on my behalf.

"YOU LOOK TROUBLED, (Y/N). IS SOMETHING THE MATTER?" Papyrus asked, taking his eyes away from the stove. I gave him a smile, though I could only muster a tired, half-smirk. "I'm tired, Papy. Really, really tired." "THEN- OH, SORRY. Then you can go lay on my bed until supper, alright?" I placed a kiss on Papyrus's exposed humerus and began walking off. I heard a flustered "Nyeh" before I rounded the corner to head upstairs. Sans was going to say something, but must've decided not to.

Laying on the bed, my mind wandered. I wanted to go now, not later. Aliza won't go, but...but just maybe...I grabbed my phone and scrolled to one of the more recent contacts, clicking the call button. Ring...ring...ri- "Hello?" "Hey, Dust! Whatcha up to?" I heard some shuffling and a small groan. "Just being lazy, right now. What, you lonely or something?" "Uh, yeah, actually. Horror brought home another damn friend, but there's this murder that happened-"

Dust laughed a bit, which was becoming a normal occurrence when it was just us. "Let me guess, you wanna play detective with me?" "Look at you! Perfect for the role, Sherlock." We laughed a bit, and once we calmed down, I asked if he wanted to check it out with me. "Sounds dangerous and stupid, (Y/N)...I'm in. See you at Grillby's in 5?" "It's a date." I hung up and left the room, watching Farm interact with Sans, Aliza, and Papyrus. I walked past and grabbed my jacket.

"Where ya going, (Y/N)?" I sighed and put it on. "Out. Grillby's." Papyrus made a sad noise, and Aliza groaned. "(Y/N), you better be telling the truth, or-" "I am, okay? I just don't want to be here right now. Besides, I'm a careful person. Bye." I slipped my combat boots on and walked out, the chilly autumn air smacking against me. I walked slowly in the darkened cold to Grillby's, where the warm air greeted me kindly.

I'd come with Sans a few times to Grillby's, enough that the regulars considered me one of them. "Heyyy, (Y/N)~" the drunk Red Bird (Idfk what his name is, it's just red bird man. like uhh sardine street or whatever). said, winking. "Hey," I said, sitting at the counter. Grillby turned to face me and I offered a kind smile. Sans said he was a bit shy after his face pretty much melted off. He was mostly normal looking, now, but his mouth was visible and he could speak now that the flames weren't in the way.

"Hi, Grillby. Can I have some fries, please?" "......of course.....," he said, walking back into the kitchen. I went to get my wallet, but a hand grabbed mine. I looked up and saw none other than Dust. "Heya, (Y/N). Don't worry, my treat." Grillby was back much later, and cocked his head seeing Dust. "Oh, he's a friend." Dust had already put the money on the table, which Grillby took. I started eating, watching Dust sit silently. "Horror would kill me if he found out."

"I know. Oh well, I guess." "Ouch, my feelings." We both laughed a bit before Dust ordered a beer. Grillby took one look, albeit quickly, and gave it over. It...wasn't long before we were both drinking and totally forgot about the forest. "Y'know, (Y/N)? You're hot, for a human." "And you're cute for a monster." We ended up staying the night, Grillby covered us with a blanket. It was the best sleep I'd had in a long time.
