Quick A/N before the chapter starts- I changed Reaper's text font slightly to be more legible and dropped Bill's font completely! It's just a little easier to make sense of now-
~Dream's POV~
We were in the AU about an hour and a half before I needed to be ready for this "date" with Killer. Of course, it wasn't just my need to be on time, but mostly the fact we had to set everyone up around the area in case anything went wrong in our little plan. Reaper was a regular at Ccino's anyway, so his presence wasn't anything out of the ordinary. Fresh's outfit and demeanor were a dead give-away and so we had to give him a different position. We had him outside and in mostly green and yellow, much to his dismay.
"Brah, I told you! These colors don't mesh real good- There needs to be at least two others- c'mon, Dreamy bro!" "Fresh, you're lucky we let you wear something other than grey. Besides, we can't have this go wrong!" The colorful skeleton groaned but accepted the wardrobe change anyways and made his way outside. Blue was also out there with him to make sure he was going to be behaved- at least somewhat. Wine and Bill were inside too, both disguised at a table together while kittens jumped to play with them. It was all going perfect so far. Ink wasn't told and already forgot, everyone was in place- nothing could go wrong!
~Killer's POV~
The moment I left the house, I was freaking out. No one even offered to go with me and make sure it wasn't a setup?! I get that they have other things to do- wait, no they don't! They're doing a fucking game night! I pulled my phone out from my pocket and texted Boss. "About to head to Ccino's. Try not to let me die." He didn't respond. I just shoved my phone back into my pocket and used my pocket teleporter to enter the AU. It was one of my favorites. Fluffytale, an AU with a cat café run by a neutral Sans- couldn't get much better than that!
I immediately spotted the golden guardian, the skeleton in question wearing his signature color. He at least had the decency to not wear that ridiculous spandex and dress that he wore in battles, but still- why yellow? I mentally shrugged it off and sat by him, making Dream flinch. "Well damn, didn't think I was that scary, Goldie Locks. At least, not out of battle." Dream chuckled nervously, scratching the back of his neck. "Not scary- j-just quiet. Didn't even hear you come in!" I shrugged, a smirk falling on my teeth. "One of my many talents."
We sat in what I thought was a comfortable silence until Dream spoke up, his voice quiet. "Thanks for, um...coming on this date..." I shrugged again. "Hey, it's not like it's hurting anyone. Though, speaking or hurting people..," I started, drawing on the table with my finger. "Can you make someone emotionless?" Dream flinched slightly, turning to me all confused-like. "E-Emotionless..?" I inhaled and nodded, deciding I might as well make my little offer now rather than later.
"Boss takes away my emotions. So I don't have to feel the guilt of my past or the constant crushing anxiety that I'll get thrown back into the hellhole that is my AU. Was wondering if...you could do anything like that. It'll make our little date a lot better for the both of us." Dream stayed silent, as if weighing his options. What options he was weighing were lost on me, but he was definitely trying to word something correctly. "It...it is possible, but I...have never tried. At least, not enough to know it works as good as Nightmare's."
"Huh...good to know. You see, Goldie, I'm willing to cut you a nice deal. Take my emotions away when they're bothering me, and I'll take you on a three hour date. Anything you want for three whole hours." Dream looked at my as if I'd lost his mind (which I have mind you.) "I...why do you...w-why is..." "Why don't I just work past my issues?" Dream nodded, his hand taking mine gently. It caused an involuntary flinch, freaking me out ever so slightly. "It's harder than just that...and I'm a Sans, we're lazy. Easier to temporarily fix the problem in an instant, than take years to fix it, you know?"
~Dream's POV~
I sat, utterly speechless. I could see Reaper glaring at me with those cold eyes, waiting for the signal, but I just...couldn't. I couldn't even think about taking him and using him for our gain when he was having this...this emotional imbalance. I sighed softly and spoke, my tone quiet. "Easy isn't always right, Killer..." He scoffed and rolled his skull, as if he were trying to roll his nonexistent eyelights. "No shit, Dream. But I'm not exactly a good person who does the right thing, now am I? Hell, I'm on a fucking date with my Boss's brother! T-The enemy!" His hand held his skull as he went quiet, shaking a little.
And that's the first time I ever felt Killer's emotions. They crashed onto me like a huge wave from a typhoon. Guilt, anger, sadness, remorse, disgust, self-loathing- and the strongest of all- hate. It made me nauseous instantly, but I held back the wrenching feeling in my gut in favor of trying to comfort him. "W-Why does that matter?" "Why...why does it matter..? Ha...haha...Haha! Wow, you are fucking insane! He's my boss, my king! I-I owe him my life!" Killer glared at me, a faint white ring of an eyelight showing in his left socket. He was spewing hate and negativity once again, like a restless fountain.
I apologized, putting my hands up in surrender. "Hey- I'm sorry, okay? I get it, you're loyal to Nightmare. But why would a date of all things matter? Your love life is none of his business." Killer's face contorted into disgust, before slowly falling into a sad frown. "It just...feels wrong..." I sighed and got up, Killer's skull shooting to glance in my direction. "Come on, let's go to Haventale. I'll help you with your emotions, but I want to use my three-hour date first. Seem fair?" Killer's gaze narrowed, as if deciding if I could be trusted. He sighed and gave in, getting up and taking his coffee. He slapped some G on the counter and stood by me. "Fine."
~3rd Person POV~
Killer and Dream made their way into one of Dream's infamous positive portals, leading him away to Haventale. Meanwhile, Fresh, Bill, Blue, Wine, and Reaper were confused as to why Dream just up and left with Killer. Reaper was furious and immediately began yelling once the group was back at the Stars' headquarters. "𝓣𝓱𝓮 𝓫𝓪𝓼𝓽𝓪𝓻𝓭 𝓭𝓲𝓭𝓷'𝓽 𝓰𝓸 𝓽𝓱𝓻𝓸𝓾𝓰𝓱 𝔀𝓲𝓽𝓱 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓼𝓽𝓾𝓹𝓲𝓭 𝓹𝓵𝓪𝓷! 𝓗𝓮 𝓳𝓾𝓼𝓽- 𝓳𝓾𝓼𝓽 𝓾𝓹 𝓪𝓷𝓭 𝓵𝓮𝓯𝓽! 𝓦𝓱𝓪𝓽 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓱𝓮𝓵𝓵 𝓪𝓻𝓮 𝔀𝓮 𝓼𝓾𝓹𝓹𝓸𝓼𝓮𝓭 𝓽𝓸 𝓭𝓸 𝓷𝓸𝔀, 𝓱𝓾𝓱?!" Blue tried to diffuse the situation, but the God of Death wasn't having it.
It wasn't long before he'd left and told them to follow through next time, or they could forget about him staying an ally. It deeply scared Blue, knowing just how formidable someone with a deathly touch would be as an enemy. Wine, surprisingly, comforted Blue and told him it was probably that infamous Sans temper getting the best of Reaper, which seemed to work well enough for the time being. "Alright, with Dream and Killer MIA, we can really only wait for them to get back. Bill, Fresh. I know you two can hop universes easily, so you're free to look for them, but please report back without taking action."
"Yeah, I gotcha, lil homie. Spyin' like Bond, yeah?" "Seems reasonable enough, I guess..? I probably won't have much time though, Blue..." Blue waved it off, saying Dream could have himself if Killer became violent. Everyone went their separate ways, leaving Blue to go to his room and think of why Dream would just...abandon their plan and run. Meanwhile, Dream and Killer were actually enjoying themselves. They spent all three hours enjoying the unconditionally kind Haventale monsters' attention. So much that Killer forgot how late it was. That he should've been back hours ago...
A quick chapter on Killer and Dream's "Date." It's a bit different than other chapters, with POV switches and a 3rd Person POV, but I didn't want to go too much over my 1000 word goal. I...still did-
