Part two to One Last Time.  Again, the art has nothing to do with the story, just trying to lighten the mood, also for any confusion, Loki is standing behind Thor.

Summary: Thor gets a phone call from your partner Alex, telling him you're in the hospital. He takes Nat and Bruce with him. (also, Bruce is sort of like you're father figure, even though he's not quite old enough, and Nat is like a sister.)

Trigger warnings: Death?

Thor was getting ready for his dinner date with Y/n, waiting for her in the commons area when he got the call.

"Hello?" he answered, confused, not recognizing the number.

"Hello, is this Thor Odinson?" an unfamiliar voice questioned on the other end of the phone. They sounded like they had been crying.

"Yes, this is him. Is something wrong?" Thor was still confused.

"Uh, yea," they sounded nervous," This is Y/n L/n's partner Alex Rendew. I-" they broke off.

"Is something wrong with Y/n?" He was concerned now.

"Sir, I regret to inform you that as of 5:30 PM this evening, Y/n L/n has been admitted to the ICU in critical condition." Their voice cracked. 5:30 PM? That was only a little bit after Y/n had called on the walkie-talkie. "Th-they're not expected to make it through the night."

Thor's phone slid from his hand and clattered to the floor. Bruce, sitting on the other side of the room, looked up, startled.

"You good, Thor?" he asked. "Thor?" he asked again when Thor didn't answer. He stood up and quickly crossed over to where Thor was standing, then noticed the tears cascading down Thor's face. Bruce stooped over, picked up the phone, and answered the person on the other end, who sounded concerned.

"Uh, hi, this is Thor's friend Bruce, I think he's gone into shock, so I'm not getting any answers out of him. May I ask what happened?" The voice on the other end sounded vaguely familiar, but it wasn't until they introduced themselves that Bruce recognized them.

"Hey, Professor Banner, this is Alex, Y/n's partner. Y/n was admitted to the hospital this evening, an-and they aren't expected t-to make it through the night," Alex stuttered out through tears.

Bruce remembered Alex, they had taken a couple weeks long extra credit course at the Compound the summer before they graduated high school, during those courses is also when Bruce met Y/n.

"Are they allowed visitors?" Bruce questioned immediately.

"I'm n-not sure," Alex replied, "They might be only letting in immediate family."

"Okay, I'm on my way, I'm bringing Thor and Natasha," Bruce said quickly before hanging up. The three of them were the closest thing to family Y/n had, along with Alex. Bruce pulled on Thor's arm, tugging him towards the door as he dialed Nat's number, she was out shopping who knows where.

"Nat," Bruce said out of breath, as soon as she answered the phone, "Y/n's in the hospital, probably dying, I need you to get there as soon as possible. I'm just leaving the Compound with Thor, I'll be there as soon as I can." Nat quickly agreed to meet them there, then hung up.

* gasp* is that a time skip I see?******

Turns out that the hospital wouldn't let Bruce or Nat in, but by telling them Thor was their fiancé, he had been planning on proposing tonight anyway, they let him in. He quickly walked over to your bed, while Bruce, Nat, and Alex watched anxiously from the window. Thor pulled up a chair next to your bed and took your hand gently in  his. You were unconscious, and bandages covered most of your body, making you almost unrecognizable.

"H-hey baby, it's Thor. I'm here. You're gonna be okay, alright? You're gonna be okay." He was more telling himself than you, but telling you all the same. He gently squeezed your hand as a tear trickled its way down his face.

Your heart monitor let out a warning beep, signaling that your heart was failing. Nurses came swarming into the room, doing everything then could to try to bring you back from the edge.

"Sir, I need you to leave the room for a little bit," one of the nurses told Thor. He nodded numbly and stared at you for a second before rushing out of the room and to the window by Nat. She had a hand up to her mouth as tears poured down her face. Bruce had an arm around her, also with tears on his face. Alex, standing a little ways away from Nat, had their arms over their face, not bearing to watch. Thor watched anxiously as the nurses tried everything that they could, but nothing was working.

Your heart rate was quickly dropping, until the little line on the monitor flattened out.

 You were gone.

Thor stumbled back a few steps as Nat let out a sob and buried her face in Bruce's shoulder. Alex stepped up and squeezed her hand, laying his other on Bruce's shoulder.

Tears came quickly as Thor ran back into the room, desperate to reach you.  One of the nurses stopped him.

"I'm sorry sir, but there's nothing we can do," they told him, holding him back from your bed as another nurse pulled a white sheet over your body, "We did our best, and I suggest you start making arrangements."

Arrangements? No. No, you weren't gone. There had to be something they could do. You were too young to die, you were supposed to grow old together, have kids someday. No, you couldn't be gone. No.

"Sir?" a new nurse approached him, shutting the blinds on the windows on their way over, "We need you to leave for the cleaning of the body."

That was it, you were really gone, and there was nothing Thor could do about it.

Well. That was one heck of a first sequel ever written. Comments are welcome!
