Gardens of the Red Keep, The Red Keep
Late 105 AC to 106 AC
"My father is remarrying." Rhaenyra said. It had been three weeks since the Velaryon lady had retrieved the egg and the two were strolling through the gardens.
Ser Criston Cole, Rhaenyra's sworn shield, was off duty while Velaryon guards followed the two girls from a polite distance. Letting them have privacy, but close enough to protect them if something happened.
"Who?" Laela inquired.
"Laena was considered... but my father will not make his choice yet. He's going to announce his choice tomorrow." Rhaenyra said.
"Is it me, or has Alicent been distancing herself from us and acting more... cold?" Laela asked.
"I've noticed that as well." the Realm's Delight frowned. "Maybe some family news?"
Laela shrugged. "Maybe its that."
Laela's chambers, the Red Keep
Late 105 AC to 106 AC
Laela looked up from her book as Rhaenyra stormed in, furious.
"He chose!" Rhaenrya yelled, furious.
"Who?" the white-gold haired Velaryon inquired.
"Alicent." Rhaenyra fumed. "They are to wed in the first month of next year."
"It does explain her behavior." the Pearl of the Sea said carefully.
Rhaenyra grumbled but nodded. "I'm still upset."
"You're okay to be. But you should start planning—Alicent will be able to give Viserys children, and some of the those children will be sons." Laela warned.
Rhaenyra was confused. "But I am the heir of the Iron Throne. I will rank above my future brothers—my father decreed it to the entirity of court!"
"Some men would rather burn the realm than let a women ascend the Iron Throne." the White Dragon warned.
"Then when I am Queen, I shall make a new order!" the violet eyed princess declared, steel in her spine and fire in her eyes. "Where women are equal to men, and can do whatever they can do! And you will be my Hand."
Laela grinned. "I'll be honored to serve the future Queen. We shall break the wheel, and then rebuild it."
That is today's chapter. I hope you have all enjoyed it.
