Thalia's POV:
Can I go back to the training with Artemis from last year. Like yeah, my sister may have been insane but she's not retraining my instinctual nature.
That's not even mentioning the info dump I'm being expected to not only memorize but have it be second nature. Like seriously how am I suppose to know the differences between the Greek and Roman gods. The Roman's just renamed them. Literally. I'm honestly surprised they didn't praise Herm...errr...Mercury more. I mean the god of thrives fits perfect for their thievery of Greek gods.
Though, each night Percy told us the training was going well. Which didn't seem true if you ask me, but whatever I'm not the Roman expert.
It's only December now and Hera showed up early for my birthday like a week or so early. Well Birthday if you go by my actual birth, not the screw upery my father caused turning me into a tree...though it turned out well for my love life so I can't complain too much about it.
"Only one of you should be here" she scowled
"Don't get your panties in a bunch. Your plans and interference won't be ruined" Percy countered.
Hera just grumbled something under her breath before glaring at me. "You better not ruin this. Or you'll never see your brother again" she said directly.
I was angry, fuming even, but Percy and Annabeth held me back. "I swear if you do anything to my little brother. My father's wife or not. My aunt or not. I will kill you"
Hera though looked unbothered and just left with out warning. We all seen her true form and should be dead.
It was as if she was a mini supernova of power and within a second she was gone.
When my vision returned to me however, Percy was coughing and looking ill. I swear if she did something to him.
Annabeth, though like me, seemed to have just been cleaned up. I was brought away from Annabeth when I heard Percy coughing again, except this time it was blood coming out of his mouth.
"Percy" Annabeth and I rushed over.
But as soon as he was done coughing up blood. It looked like he was miraculously better. "Are you ok" Annabeth asked worriedly.
Percy didn't respond, instead he stared at the blood he coughed up. "Percy" I asked.
He came out of his thoughts and looked at us, "I should be ok" he said, but something about the way he said it didn't convince me.
I looked at his blood he coughed up, but I didn't see anything out of the ordinary, but my gut told me something was wrong.
"Listen to your instincts" Lupa's voice said inside my head. "Remember what it looks like now"
I decided to listen to the wolf goddess for once. Figuring I would need this information for later.
Time skip
It's been a few weeks since then but I've been starting to notice improvements in my training. As did Lupa. She was congratulating us and praising us on finally showing progress. She also started teaching us this glare that she called the "Wolf Stare."
Ironically named if you ask me. But when Percy demonstrated for us. I have to admit my lover can be scary as Tartarus if he want to be. I honestly felt like I was prey and there's nothing that I could do that could get him to be scared off.
I know it's not the truth, though, as he loves me and who he was raised by. But that stare instilled a fear that not even gramps could put into me.
It was going well until Athena showed up, though she looked more war like and serious than usual.
"Daughter" Athena said
"Yes mother" Annabeth responded
"I have a quest for you" she stated, and tossed Annabeth a coin.
"No I do not accept this quest"
"YOU WILL ACCEPT IT OR BE DISOWNED YOU UNGRATEFUL BRAT. I AM GIVING YOU A CHANCE FOR THE ULTIMATE GLORY OF MY CHILDREN."
Annabeth nodded sadly and picked up the coin. "You are disowned until the quest is complete. You can no longer call yourself my child until you're done" Athena said and flashed off. I was about to stab her. So was Percy for that matter, if looks were anything to go by, and somehow he made the wolf stare even worse. Thankfully it wasn't directed at me.
But once Athena left, Annabeth was crying.
"Annie" I said dropping my hatred for Athena and rushing to her side to give her a hug.
As soon as I touched her she stopped crying and began squeezing Percy and I tightly. "It's alright" Percy said. "You have us"
Annabeth wasn't crying but I knew she was upset. Suddenly she stopped completely whirled around and had a wolf pinned at knife point. It wasn't Lupa but it was one of her pack.
"She's ready Perseus" Percy nodded but glanced at me slightly.
"The daughter of Zeus not yet"
"Why am I ready" Annabeth asked but you could still hear the hurt in her voice.
"You have mastered your emotions and are not letting them blind you. Plus I can't teach you much more than you already know" Lupa answered.
Annabeth seemed satisfied but went to our tent.
"I'll go be with her" Percy said to me. "You continue your training so we can go visit"
I nodded a bit saddened but I knew what Lupa meant when she said I wasn't ready. I allowed my emotions to control me just then a little...well at least enough to not notice the approaching wolf.
I took a deep breath and continued my lessons.
Annabeth's POV:
I've been told I'm ready to go visit the Romans so I headed to the tent to calm down. My mother just sent me on a suicide mission. She never cared for me.
Once I got in I started screaming and crying into the pillow. I don't even know if I want to do this anymore. I can already feel my strength fading from me.
"Shhhh. It will be alright" Percy soothed
"No it won't. Im no longer a demigod and I have to go on the most dangerous quest ever given by Athena and she only gives it to her kids to disown them, unless it's completed, which it never has been" I said trying to keep myself calm.
Percy however seemed even more pissed than before.
"Don't Percy" I said, "she's not worth it"
However I feel it fell upon deaf ears.
Percy just held me and soothed me for the rest of the day, and I soon feel asleep to the rhythmic sound of his heart beat.
