Frank's POV:

Percy is weird. Like for one he just arrived a day ago. He has 17 years of service despite only being 16, and all 17 of those years were personally granted by Mars Ultor. And that's not even mentioning how he holds himself.

He almost seems like a rivial to Reyna with how he holds himself. He strong definitive and just has the aura of a leader. Almost as if it is right to follow him into battle and listen to his orders, which don't sound like orders.

But then you have the magic tent, his bronze leaf shaped sword, and what ever other weapons he probably has, and his armor. But no, now he also, allegedly, owns a boat as well, a warship at that too. He said it was capable of fighting.

It didn't help I had all these thoughts while I was packing my bag. I had to repack it twice because I couldn't get everything to fit with sloppy folding and storage of clothes.

We would be leaving after lunch so I had time. I couldn't question Percy though, as right now he's in a meeting with Reyna, and he brought Annabeth and Thalia with him. So I couldn't ask them about him either. But all three seem powerful and carry themselves like Reyna does, which scares me. The idea of more than one Reyna that is, because one is good enough for me. Even though I don't know how Jason was as he's before my time, but from what I've heard he doesn't seem like someone like Reyna.

The weird thing with Reyna though is that no one knows her backstory, and I mean no one. She just showed up one day as the daughter of Bellona and when she arrived she rallied the camp and pushed off a monster attack immediately, going from not even probatio to a legionary. She rose faster through the ranks than anyone before her. She received 10 Mural Crowns before she even became a centurion. She's even rumored to have received the civic crown. But no one mentions it not the retired legionaries nor anyone under her command. In fact she only displays her Praetor badge and a singular Mural Crown. The one she got from the one time she loss after topping the wall.

In short both she and Percy are enigmas and both appear to play an important role in the future of the legion. Almost as if they were hand chosen by the gods or fates to save the legion. My only question is what's my role in this.

I've been award centurion because my father wants me to go on and lead a quest to Alaska, and my only accomplishment the mural crown I don't deserve. Hazel or Percy could have easily went over the wall first. Even Annabeth and Thalia could have flown over it first, but it was me.

I'm not usually superstitious but I don't think I like what might lay ahead for me, as whatever it is I'm involved now, and I have less than a month of official Roman training.

"Frank" Hazel said, entering the doorway to the male side of the fifth cohort barracks. Apparently there wasn't a sex based separation but sometime in the 50s that changed as a legionary started ummm, doing something I think Percy would kill him for, to his fellow female legionaries. It's rumored to have occurred at least three times, though probably more if you ask me. After the trial and execution, and some say by castration, the praetors decided to separate the barracks based on sex, something that hasn't changed since.

"Yeah hazel" I said, though I'm sure I'm blushing. She's a good friend, and well my only friend really, but I have a slight crush on her. I just don't know how to tell her and I don't want to tell her now that I'm a centurion. It would be an abuse of my position, I think.

"Lunch will be starting soon and then we leave." She informed me. "And uhh Percy finished his meeting with Reyna. He's carrying that ring she holds onto but no one asks her about"

"Hmm ok then" I said. "Thanks for telling me" I added, picking up my bag to travel with. Hazel turned around to leave and I almost left too but quickly grabbed the Gorgon blood vials. Something inside just told me to grab it and then I left rushing to catch up to Hazel so we could all have lunch together.
