Annabeth's POV:

Thalia wants to see her little brother again, which I didn't know existed, but he's Roman. So, Percy is taking Thalia and I along to learn the Roman ways from the goddess Lupa.

We left some of our stuff behind, important things at that, that we wouldn't leave behind normally. Thalia left her bow, I left one of my hunting knives, and, Percy, he left his hunting and throwing knives.

It's been a week since we left camp and now we are in the Cascade mountain range. Why we are here. Well Percy says this is where we will met Lupa.

"How long will our training be" Thalia asked

"Thalia for like the millionth time this week it depends how quickly you adapt to Roman ways" Percy sighed out. I'll be honest even I was getting a little annoyed of Thalia's question about this.

Percy held us to a stop and set up our tent. "Percy it's still day time out" I stated, because we usually only went to sleep at night.

"Shhh" Percy whispered, "they are close"

I wanted to ask who, but that was answered by a wolf howling.

Percy drew his sword, which Thalia and I mimicked.

It didn't take long but we were suddenly surrounded by wolves. I was nervous and wondering how we would escape this when the largest of the wolves moved to stand right in front of Percy.

"My little pup still has his instincts and senses" a female voice said. But it sounded like it was coming from the large wolf. "He even found his mates" the same voice continued.

Percy started blushing, as did Thalia and me. Though we won't admit it.

"Mother Lupa" Percy said

"He even remembers me" the wolf said and started circling and jumping up and down around Percy. I was worried she was going to attack but Percy didn't show any fear of that.

"Wait this is Lupa" Thalia asked

Suddenly it hit me what he called the wolf as well. How am I suppose to learn from a wolf.

"Yes I am Lupa" The wol...Lupa replied.

"Why bring your mates to me Pup. They are Graecus" Lupa replied

"Thalia wanted to see her brother. My mother gave permission" Percy answered formally.

I'm beginning to pick up somethings. One Percy is being more serious, formal, and direct than usual. I have a feeling that might be at least part of training and Thalia may not take that well.

"I see my pup" Lupa replied, "what is it that you want me to do"

"Train them in the ways" Percy answered, "so that we can go visit Thalia's brother"

Lupa hummed in thought. Before walking over and looking at both Thalia and I, up and down, probably evaluating us.

"Even Minerva's child" Lupa asked

"Please mother Lupa" Percy asked. Not even having turned to see what Lupa is doing but standing forward looking like a soldier at attention.

Lupa stopped and moved back around to Percy. "I can try teaching them. But the training you all did will not work well with the ancient ways" she answered.

"That's is fine" Percy replied. "Even if we join we have a story as to why we don't fight in their way"

Lupa again hum'ed in thought. "Alright then my pup. I shall train your mates" she answered.
