First day, first rumor

"Engeeeene! Here you are!"
It's Sooha, my best friend since my first day at Decelis.
"Gosh, you look terrible!"

"Do I really??" I panick, recalling the hour I spent staring at myself this very morning. I wanted my first day of the year to be perfect.

"No, of course I'm kidding. You look perfect, idiot," she exclaims, slapping her forehead. "I'm just saying this because of you know who."

I nod.

"It's ok, I'm ok. My life is not ending because my little crush wasn't fulfilled." It is, tho.
"Now, we have bigger issues. You recall this year's objective ?"

"Student Council President!"

"Exactly!"

We discreetly check, and while we're heading to our first class, Sooha suddenly exclaims,

"OMG! I forgot to tell you!"
I jump.
"I know you have this strict rule about unverified rumors and gossip, but everyone is talking about it, and I'm sure you'll love it!"

"I wonder what it could be," I say, rolling my eyes. Sooha has a thing for rumors, and it can be very useful, but eight out of ten times, it's half or complete bulshit.

"Be ready to heal your broken heart, because your ultimate crush's little brother is enrolling in Decelis for his first year of uni!"

"WHAT!?"

"Crazy, right?" she says, proudly, nudging my arm with her elbow.

"JK has a brother and I never knew?? How could I never see it? I know everything about him!"

"You're shocked about the wrong thing, you stalker. Imagine a mini version of THE Jeon Jungkook!"

I was imagining it. And weirdly, it didn't seem so appealing to me. A wannabe JK, with black baggy clothes and long hair, acting all grand because of his big bro's name. Having every girl in the school after him for no reason at all. On Jungkook, it was cool, but on anyone else, it sounded terrible.

Jungkook was a playboy and a troublemaker, but in person, he was simply adorable. Looking after everyone, a little naive sometimes, and awfully talented. Anyone else with his reputation would just be pretty disgusting to my eyes.

"You don't seem so happy about the news..."

"Happy, I don't know. But I am intrigued, that's for sure! I do want to meet him. Do you know anything else about him? Like his name, for exemple."

"I don't know his name, because it's private information."
I couldn't help a laugh, as if it had ever stopped her.
"Plus, he doesn't have the same last name as Jungkook, because their parents decided to each give their respective last name to one of their kids."
So much for private information.
"He also was MIA until now because he was studying abroad, and he apparently isn't a big party animal. So, even when he was here for vacation or whatnot, we wouldn't have had much chances to come upon him."

"I see..."

As I said, I was intrigued. It was frustrating to me that I never knew about this little brother, and I definitely wanted to know more about the guy.

Even if I knew I'd be disappointed.
