"You realize I could easily get a trombinoscope of the whole school, as well as personal files, so we could do this at a desk, instead of standing here like idiots?"

"We're just at the coffee machine, no need to feel self-conscious. It's better to do this live, you need to feel the vibe and be sure of his visuals to make your choice."

We walk to a nearby table while I roll my eyes. I'm not the type to get embarrassed that easily, but this whole operation makes me cringe deeply. I'm supposed to watch people walk by like I'm at the shop and make my choice, while Jungwon is acting like a cashier.

To make it less weird for me, I ask him,

"You too, make your choice."

"Me? I don't need this kind of thing."

"You mean a girlfriend?"

"I mean a scheme to get one. I'm cute freshman Jungwon, all big sisters on campus want to get a taste."

"Disgusting," I blurt out. "Tell me your type, still."

"Are you interested in knowing more about me, Engene?"

"I just don't want to be alone in this, I feel ridiculous."

"I like smart girls," he finally answers. I feel flattered, until he adds, "Not like a certain girl I know who has had a crush on someone for years without realizing she could have had him from the start."

"How many more time do you and the rest of the school plan on bringing this up against me? Let it go!"

He laughs.

While I catch myself staring at his dimples, he exclaims,

"Oh, him! Isn't that just your type?"

I turn around, ignoring all rules of discretion.

"Nah," I reply. "I don't like underdogs, he seems like he would be easily influenced by his guy friends. In a bad way."

"Oh, you do have standards. Let's see, what about his friend right there."

"He does seem like the leader..."
I stare, suddenly strangely focused.
"But no. He's not my type."

"Is it the blond hair?"

"Maybe. I don't like his vibe."

"It's gotten clearer, just to become more vague again," he mumbles.

"You're the one who told me I needed to feel their vibe."

I wouldn't admit it to Jungwon, but I am starting to have fun. It feels like a scientific quest now. I'm even discovering things about myself.

We go at it until the bell rings. He fix our next meeting and I go back to class, still following guys with my eyes, analysing them without realizing it.

I'm quite proud to have found the perfect target on my own, away from Jungwon's watch.

It was during my weekend's marathon training. In our training group, people come and go, so it's not unusual to meet new faces. Thankfully, no Jungwon. However, that's how I met Hugh.

Hugh is a head taller than me and never sweat. We ran side to side while he gave me advices. An elegant man with perfect brown hair and a deep voice. Two years older than me and a few tattoos. What's more, his bright smile was enough to conquer the whole running team, including me.

After training, we went for a drink with a few fellows from the group, and we exchanged contact infos. From that moment on, I started to imagine Jungwon's reaction to my success.

*

"Not good."

"Pardon? I don't think it's your decision to make," I reply, a little irritated and disappointed in his reaction.

But Jungwon sighs and continue,

"He's not what you need. He won't be the type to obey your every word, princess. You'll have to grow up if you want to date this type of man."

"Oh, Jungwon, I know he's tall, no need to keep repeating it," I mock.

"He's too good for you, Green."

"That why I like him. You asked me for my type, that's my type. Plus, you don't seem to find any red flags in him. Now, are you going to help me get him or not?"

"Only if you find someone else entirely."

"Ooook, I'll manage on my own then."

"I'm kidding! Of course I'll help you. I'm your dating teacher."

"Congratulate me on my find then."

He rolls his eyes but still obey,

"Congratulations Engene, you did a good job."

Victorious, I smile with all my teeth and do a little dancy-dance to taunt him.

I can't wait to hear his advices.
