"What do you want to be when you grow up?" Eli found himself asking.
They decided to spend their night in the car because someone ( the cat ) refused to leave until she got tired and the sun went down. The two teens put their seats all the way back and looked at the sky through the sun roof. You could see the stars more. . .Juno wished she was into that sort of thing. Constellations, planets, all sorts of things.
"I haven't thought about it before," she said. "I'm living one day at a time these days."
"Yeah right," Eli whispered to himself, stretching his arms before playing with his hands. His tongue brushed against his lip and he felt his heart sink, he forgot that was there.
"What do you mean 'yeah right'?" Juno smiled softly before turning on her side to look at him.
"I guarantee you that you have thought about it at least once," Eli said. "Considering you have thought about going on a road trip and planned it."
She looked at him, he looked soft and relaxed and she thought it was because of the moonlight kissing his skin but it could be the fact that he was there with her. He was there with her and he liked it.
"I thought about being a ghost hunter," she smiled.
"I can't tell if you're serious or not," Eli whispered.
"Im serious," she said. "All those horror movies I watch and the ghost hunting videos on YouTube, it looks fun. Might give a nice adrenaline rush too."
"You better not bring any spirits back home with you."
"Do you imagine we will be living together in the future?" Juno asked.
"Yeah."
Oh.
"What if ghost hunting doesn't work out?" he asked, breaking the silence.
"I'm not sure," she sighed. "I dont know what I'm going to do with myself."
Eli hummed and Juno reached over to hold his hand.
"What do you want to do in the future?" Juno asked.
"Im not completely sure, maybe something with math," he said. Juno had to clear her throat to rid of the small giggle about to escape past her lips.
"Did you get anything back from the colleges you applied to?"
"I didnt actually apply to them," he admitted.
"What? Why not?"
"I dont know," he sighed. "I dont know what im going to do with myself."
They laid there, hands intertwined, and said nothing. Enjoying the silence, Juno felt her eyes begin to shut. Her hand tightened and she reached behind her to make sure the doors were still locked. She was about to allow herself to sink into slumber, before the sun decided to blind them awake, before the shuffling of Agent Coulson made her wake up completely. The type of wake up when you're so close to falling asleep and then your body feels like it's falling.
Eli chuckled and she frowned at him before closing her eyes yet again.
"Im not scared of you," Eli told her, and she arched her brow before she opened her eyes. "You're not a bully and I feel normal around you."
"You're not normal," Juno said. "You're a nerd and that's not normal."
"Oh shut up," he scoffed as she laughed loudly, trying to cover her mouth so she would quiet. "You know what I meant."
She nodded and sat up. She looked around them, the dark road and the dark trees putting her on edge, before she found Eli's eyes who looked at her with nothing but concern and curiosity. They held eye contact too long and Juno didnt know what to do to break it.
She leaned over and pressed a soft kiss to his lips. He wasted no time in cupping her face and kissing her back before pulling away and frowning at her.
"No," she said, she knew what he was going to say, what he was going to do. "You're not going to do this again."
"But-"
"No, I like kissing you and that scar above your lip is not going to stop me," she said.
She kissed him before he could argue with her. Sometimes they would kiss and Eli would somehow become aware of the scar and try to push her away, she was not going to have that ruin either of their moods tonight.
He pulled her gently over to his lap, his hands finding its spot on her hips as she kissed him harder. He felt like she was taking his breath away and he didn't mind it one bit. Her hands moved down from their position on his cheeks to the hem of her shirt. Eli felt the fabric brush past his finger tips and he broke the kiss. He couldn't ignore the tingling sensation.
"Not here," he whispered, pulling at the end of her shirt to stop her from pulling it up. "Not now."
"Someday," she agreed, kissing him softly and resting her hand on his cheek.
"Someday," he repeated, pulling her in to deepen the kiss.

also I like writing eli being all outgoing and cute with people he's comfortable with, its very therapeutic in a way
