Harry Styles
I hold the memory card in between my fingers, examining it carefully. Jane gave it to me last night. She said it's better in my possession than hers.
I plan on going through the pictures sometime today since she and I are both eager to see how they'll come out.
She left for lunch a few minutes early since she wanted to get lunch with Zayn. I plan on leaving for my lunch too. I'm going somewhere I haven't gone in months. Somewhere that I've been needing to go for a while now.
My door swings open and Becca marches in with a file in her grasp. "I have a proposal." She says in a singing tune. "And I need you to approve it."
She lays the file on my desk, sliding it to me. "Do you have time to go over it?"
I glance at the clock, inhaling a breath. "I was just about to go. Is it important?"
Her smile drops. "It's a project proposal. How could it not be important?"
"I'm sorry, Becs. I'll read it when I get back from lunch. I have somewhere to be." I apologize, getting up from my seat.
I place the memory card by my keyboard and tuck the file folder in my briefcase so I can go through it later. Becca stares at the memory card, furrowing her eyebrow. "What's that?"
I look down at it, clearing my throat. "Some files I needed to upload to my computer."
She slowly nods, keeping her straight face. "Promise me you'll look it over?"
"Yes, I promise." I snort a laugh, "Relax, I'll get it to you by tonight. Lighten up!"
She stares at me weirdly, trailing her eyes up and down my face. "Has anybody told you how different you've been acting lately?" She stares at me again and suddenly gasps. "Oh my gosh. No way. No fucking way!"
"What?"
"Harry," Her jaw drops, "you look in love."
"Shut up." I shush her, looking past her shoulder at the open door. "Want to say that louder? I don't think the rest of this floor heard you."
She squeals, clapping her hands together. "It's in your eyes. It's in your mood. It's all over you. You're falling in love."
"No, I am not. Now if you excuse me, I'm running late." I start to rush out my door, "I promise I'll get it to you by tonight!"
I race-walk through the floor, heading straight for the elevator. I repeatedly tap on the button until the doors open up and quickly slide in.
Once I press the bottom floor button I inhale a deep breath, resting my head against the wall.
She's wrong. Rebecca is totally wrong. She doesn't know what she's talking about. I'm still the same Harry.
The elevator bell rings and the doors slide open. I walk into the parking garage and immediately spot the car.
Rick stands by the car door with his straight face on. He opens up the door and nods at me. I nod back, hopping into the car and sliding on the leather seats.
Rick closes my door and gets into the passenger seat. The chauffeur looks at me through the mirror, "To Joe's?"
I nod. "To Joe's"
Last night was weird. It was a different feeling. Everything about it was strange and my mind hasn't recovered from it. And it all revolves around Jane.
This entire week has been off.
I couldn't get enough of her during our entire trip to Ireland. I still can't.
