The transition from the blistering cold to blooming flowers is a subtle change that happens in a blink of an eye if a person is not paying it any mind.
One day the muddled snow sloshes with every footstep, and suddenly, there's a cherry blossom fluttering with every passing step.
The petrichor scent is rather pleasant and tickles his nose, alerting him the change is upon him. Yet it was the lonely classroom on the second floor. The one that's so quiet he can hear his breathing hitched.
The third seat from the back, the warm rays of the morning light danced on her skin, and the foggy hue of the dusky blue morning surrounding her can only be described as angelic.
So focused on the scribbles on the pages to notice his frozen state.
His fingers twitched on his jeans as an overwhelming sensation flushed through him. The utter desire of wanting to reach over and grab hold, like the time at the record store, as nothing other than gravity pushed him to hold her hand.
That day, he kept thinking about how fragile she was, how cold her hands were, and how all he wanted to do was keep her warm.
Is it spring already?
"Um, Iwa? Are you going to go inside or just stand there?" Iwaizumi's broad shoulders blocked the classroom entrance. Rather loud ginger, announcing Iwaizumi's name loud enough for her to look towards his direction.
Eyelashes fluttered in his direction, the corners of her lips wrinkling to form a smile. It's almost unfair how a single glance could completely melt winter itself.
"N-no." Iwaizumi clears his throat, bringing him back to reality. Stepping aside to let the traffic through the doors, "Mind giving this to Takeda?" The papers were handed off to a nodding Hinata, who eagerly took the paperwork to the teacher's desk.
A smile turned into a small wave as she fluttered her fingers toward him. He was too far away, but he could see her mouthing the word hello, inviting him to inch closer, to listen to the sweet nothings in his ear.
His legs are heavy, buckling as his mind and heart play a game of tug of war.
Class is starting soon, is the excuse he used to not reciprocate the warm greetings, walking away from her. The morning bell chimed on the intercom, and the cold returned.
She has a boyfriend.

"A two-sided relationship can only exist if both directions are on the same page. Now, there are rules to these limits. The variables must correlate, or else we have a one-sided relationship. Does everyone understand?"
Yeah. One-sided feelings for a complete stranger with a boyfriend will not calculate a definitive outcome. Understood.
It's already hard enough having calculus first period on a Monday. And now the professor is spewing some philosophical nonsense about relationships? No thanks.
"Hey, what did you get for number three?"
"Hello?"
"Pssst."
"Iwa~"And on top of that, adding a pest Iwaizumi has the unfortunate pleasure of calling his best friend, in the same class as him, makes him groan.
"Figure it out yourself, Crappykawa."
If calculus was not a requirement, Iwaizumi would have dropped the class by now. But despite the complaints about math class and his brooding exterior, Iwaizumi does care about school and grades. When not at work, Iwaizumi is studying, all while trying not to focus on the uncertainty of the future.
