Liz and Dean are in the library looking for lore about the Mark of Cain, when Sam walks in with his laptop and he says, "Hey. You two good?" Liz simply nods and Dean says, "Aces. Yeah, I love the smell of parchment in the morning." Sam sits next to Liz and says, "I mean, how much lore is even left. We've got nothing on the Mark?" Dean nods and says, "Right? You'd think these eggheads, with all the crap they amassed over the years, would have collected something important. Uh, here. "He-wolf/she-wolf: a study in werewolf transgenderism." 600 pages, volume 1. But, uh, not something important, like-- I don't know-- maybe the oldest symbol known to man. That's not worth our time." Then Sam's phone rings and it's Jody and he says, "No way. Jody. How's it going?" Jody sarcastically says, "Uh, you know. Having the time of my life at a Sheriff's retreat in Hibbing." Sam says, "Wow. Sounds like a blast." Liz mouth "Tell her I said "Hi." Dean waves and Sam nods and tells Jody, "Liz and Dean both say hi." Jody says, "You found them? Thanks for telling me!" Sam says, "Yeah. Uh, right. Sorry about that." Jody says, "How are they doing?" Sam says, "Good, good. Yeah, you know? Uh, you know, hold on a sec. I'm gonna put you on speaker." Liz says, "Hey, Jody. How's Alex doing?" Jody says, "Awesome. Already head of the cheerleading squad." Dean says, "Wow. Really?" Jody says, "No. Dean, she smokes grass under the bleachers. But at least she's not luring men to their deaths." Dean says, "Right." Jody says, "Listen, this may not be your kind of thing, but a body was found here this morning, and something had gone to chow town on it." Liz says, "Was the throat ripped out?" Jody says, "Worse." Jody says, "I'm hearing that all the flesh had been eaten down to the bones. Any ideas?" Dean says, "Well, it's not a vampire." Sam says, "Yeah, I-I don't know, Jody. I-I got nothing." Dean says, "Jody, um... we could head that way. Wouldn't be any trouble at all." Jody says, "It's okay. I can handle it. I promise I'll call if it gets to be something I can't." Sam says, "All right. Well, uh, enjoy the retreat." Jody says, "Screw you, Winchester." Sam laughs and says, "Talk soon." Jody hangs up and Dean says, "I'm gonna swallow a bag of knives if I got to keep looking at this stuff. Let's--" Sam cuts Dean off and says, "Jody said she was on top of it, Dean." Dean says, "Uh-huh." Liz says, "Sam, Dean's right. I mean, you heard what Jody said. This monster ate flesh all the way to the bone. How is she gonna kill it, if she doesn't know what she's killing?" Dean nods at Liz and Dean says, "She's got a point." Sam says, "All right. Let's take a drive."
