Now, in the Egyptian exhibit. Flash is seen talking with Alix and her father. A chemistry set sitting in the background, Alix sitting on the base of an exhibit.
Alix's father examines the scanner.
It was relatively small and had a similar design to a car inspection device, save for a circular knob on the right side.Alim: And you're sure that this device is capable of tracking these "Time particles"?
Flash: Yes, sir. This device was designed to track any particular particles within a major city.
Alim: I must admit, this device is an astonishing piece of technology.
Flash: Thank you.
Alix hops down from the exhibit's base.
Alix: How did you even build this thing, anyway?
Flash: I have the blueprints saved to an encrypted file.
Of which, only I have access to.Alim: How does it work?
Flash: Oh it's easy, I'll show you.
He hands the device back to Flash, and he pushes the center button and adjusts the knob on the device.
He looks towards Alix and her father.
Flash: Mind you, I haven't tested this,"Particle Scanner," yet. So, consider this the trial run. Fingers crossed.
The father and daughter step back, Flash activates the device. It starts pinging, and he starts walking towards an Obelisk.
(Device beeping rapidly)
Flash: Aha!
Alix: Hey, I recognize that Obelisk, that's the same one that-
The device charges, and green particles appear.
The device absorbs the particles, and a small green vial disperses from the bottom.Flash: There we go, at least we know it works now.
He hands the device back to Alim to examine it further.
Ladybug and Cat Noir charge into the exhibit.
Ladybug: Stop right there!
Cat: You're cornered!
Alix: Calm down, you two. This guy's not a supervillain.
Alim: Indeed, he was just showing me this remarkable device.
Cat: What makes you so sure?
Ladybug: Yeah, he's probably trying to act innocent, before kidnapping you, and dowsing you with the contents of that vial!
Flash: I'm not your enemy, you can ask Alix and her father.
Ladybug: Don't lie to us, you're just trying to stall, so you can steal our Miraculous, you criminal!
Flash: (Frustrated Growl) I'm not a criminal or villain, and I'm not here for your Miraculous! WHY CAN'T YOU SEE THAT?!
Elsewhere, a giant kaleidoscope shudder opens revealing Hawk Moth standing in the moonlight.
Hawk Moth: Ah, such anger and frustration in the face of ignorance.
Hawk Moth: What perfect fodder for my akumas.
He holds out his hand, and infuses a white butterfly
with dark energy.(SHHOOOM!)
It flies off.
Hawk Moth: Fly away little akuma, and evilize him!
(Cackles maniacally.)
The akuma flies through the cityscape.
Back at the Egyptian exhibit. The trio of heroes stand bickering with each other.Alim: Please, all this arguing is pointless!
While the trio of heroes is arguing, Alix looks upward.
Alix: Guys, look out! An Akuma!
The three look up and see it flying towards the Flash.
Alim: Flash, stay back! Those insects are very dangerous!
Alim Kubdel stands in front of Flash.
The akuma flies into the scanner in Alim's hand.
Flash and Alix: NO!
Ladybug and Cat Noir look horrified.
Hawk Moth (TB): "That wasn't what I had in mind, but I can work with this."
Hawk Moth: Archaeologist, I am Hawk Moth!
Alix: Dad! Don't listen to him!
Alim struggles to resist Hawk Moth's control.
Hawk Moth: Ladybug and Cat Noir aren't willing to understand the facts of your discovery?
Well I'm giving you the power to seek out and educate those who ignore you.Alim: No, I refuse to give in to your power!
Hawk Moth: It's pointless to resist, soon you'll have no choice but to give in. And in return, you will bring me the greatest archaeological discovery of all: Ladybug and Cat Noir's Miraculous!
He looks at his daughter solemnly.
Alim: I'm sorry, Alix.
He transforms into the supervillain, Archaeologist.
