Chapter 8

A whole day had passed after Iwaizumi disappeared.

Although some might not realize this, this is the longest Oikawa Tooru had stood without the mer by his side. He couldn't help but be worried at the numerous possibilities that went through his mind.

Once Iwaizumi left, that didn't really leave much for the humans to do in the house. The main problem that was Iwaizumi, was gone for who knows how long. Which only left for Kuroo and Tooru to discuss their findings with each other.

"You were able to teach Iwaizumi English in less than a month?"

Oikawa nodded as he looked down at his hands, mind distant. "28 days have passed since I met Iwa-chan...I've been studying him to the best of my ability." Tooru took out his tablet and handed it over to Tetsurou who accepted it with eager eyes.

On the tablet was a rough sketch of the mer's body and tail. Little details like his fluke to his teeth and nails were drawn skilfully by the human. Kuroo hummed curiously," I will never forget how dedicated and talented you are to your work." Oikawa chuckled as he closed his eyes and leaned up against the couch.

"Mer People", Kuroo mumbled,"

Bioluminescent

Mers can closely control when they light up by regulating and processing their needs. The two reasons being to warn off predators by distracting or startling them although it is also used to attract a mate.

The intensity of the light affects different variables in a Mer's life and is why it is looked as most appealing. Females don't seem to contain this characteristic. Although they look to gravitate more towards Blue bioluminescent features. It demonstrates that the male can most likely protect itself, plus the idea that offspring will most likely inherit its gene is most looked after in Females. As light wavelength decreases, so does the ability of light to penetrate water. Blue light penetrates best, green light is second, while red light is last. Red light is quickly filtered from water as depth increases compared to red light which effectively never reaches the deep ocean.

Visibility: Could be a possibility on why Females prefer Blue."

Tetsurou stopped reading once he finished the first set of notes. He looked up at Oikawa with wide eyes,"You wrote all of this?"

Tooru shrugged,"Yeah it's nothing. Iwaizumi told me some things while the other stuff was mostly hypothesis."

Tetsurou shook his head as he flipped through the other pages in the tablet,"But even then this is amazing for just a month of work, especially if you were working alone."

Oikawa opened his eyes as he looked over at Kuroo," Thanks Tetsu-chan."

"Were you able to get any information on the shifting process?"
