I woke up. It was night. I felt that I needed to check my Dad's room. I walk in and see that he is not there. I found some writings on his desk. I decided to read the first one I saw. When I saw it said "I don't plan to live any longer" I immediately ran out of the house in my white nightgown.
I asked God to help me find Dad. I saw a light in another house light up. That must have been the way God wanted me to go. I began running through the streets as God guided me.
I finally found Dad. He was sitting on the parapet of a bridge. I ran to him to stop him as fast as possible.
It was too late. Before I could get to him he jumped.
I went to the parapet and looked down. I saw his dead body. Tears started to fall out of my eyes. That was the most painful moment in my life. Knowing that a person who I loved left me was the worst. He was the one that always was by my side. He was the one that protected me. He went to extreme lengths to do so.
Now he is dead. He meant the world to me. He was my everything, but I lost him.
I just sat on the streets and cried my heart out.
Some time later John showed up with some of his people. He looked over the parapet. Then he came to me and sat by me.
"He is dead. It was too late for me to do anything." I said tearfully.
"Let's get you home." John said.
John picked me up and then I fell asleep.
I remember waking up back in my house, in the drawing room. I saw John when I woke up.
"Here, have some water," he said as he passed a glass of water to me.
"So I guess that last night wasn't a dream. My Dad is dead." I stated.
"I am sorry for your loss." He said.
I took a sip of water.
"What happens to me now?" I asked.
"You will live at my Mansion till you are 18, after that point it will be your choice if you want to move out or not. Now you must pack your things and put them in the carriage. We will leave when you are ready." John stated.
"John? Could you do something for me? Give my Dad the proper burial he deserves." I asked.
"I will." he replied.
He walked out of the house.
I changed my clothes. I put on a medium green flowy gown and hat.
I got my things and put them in the carriage. It wasn't easy to get Dad's things too but I made myself do it. When I was going to get Dad's things off his desk I saw he had written a journal. They all began with "Journal Entry" . There were lots of them. But I also found something strange in one of them "My name is Elizabeth '' it began with. Who was Elizabeth? Why did Dad have letters like that? I need to find out why. I gathered all of Dad's things and put them in the carriage.
I walked through the house one last time. I reflected on the memories that I made of my Dad. Wonderful days and tough days. I will truly miss him. Afterward I went to the carriage.
