Kenzie's POV

It was finally the end of the day, and boy I was ready for my bed. Nora defeated the villain on her own and even gave her a little pep talk to the weather wizard which saved her life from the other villain. She was awesome. Even if she doesn't think this, I know this to be true. She does qualities of Dad in her. I guess he was very proud of one of his girls.

I'm currently in bed at the moment reading a novel that is due for school. It's this book called 'of mice and men. It is good so far. I was turning the page to start the 6th chapter when I heard a knock at the door.

"come in" I muttered as I was still very much into the book.

"Hey Kenz, can we speak with you for a moment?" the voice of my mother uttered.

"Yeah, just one sec" I just need to finish the sentence, I hate leaving in the middle of the sentence I have to finish the sentence every time. There could be a fire and I would still need to finish the sentence. "And done, you have my full attention" I set my book on my nightstand and my parents came in and sat on my bed. My dad was right beside me and my mom is at the end facing me. "So what did you want to talk about?" I asked them.

"Kenz we couldn't help but notice how interested you have been recently about your birth mother." my dad mentioned

"What do you mean?"

"Kenz, you started becoming obsessed with your songbook....." I cut dad off.

"yes because it has some of my thoughts, feelings and original songs in there, plus it's the only thing I have from my biological mother. what's wrong with my book?"

"theirs Nothing wrong with that, Kenzie" my mother assured me.

"It's not just your songbook. You started asking about your birth mother, which you never wanted to even talk about her before. what brought this all on baby?" my dad asked and I just started picking at my nails.

"I don't know dad," I said as I keep picking at my nails.

"Come on Kenz, I know you. I know when your lying to me" my dad noted

"but I'm not lying dad."

"Kenz the only time you have ever picked your nails is when you lie. don't think I haven't noticed you being a lot secretive lately." so what. I've been secretive, a teenager is allowed to have space.

"Sometimes I need some space for myself" I mutter under my breath.

"Kenz that's alright but we just want to know why all this stuff with your biological mother all of a sudden." my comforted me a bit.

"I just want to know about her" I stated plainly

"Kenz, that's not the only reason. you know it, I know it and we all know it" dad stated with his voice getting just a bit louder.

"it's nothing dad, don't worry," I said to assure him but what happened next is what I liked to call a complete and total betrayal.......
