Johnny's POV:
"Honey! You're finally home. Where have you been?" Mom asks.
"At Y/n's."
"Well did you eat dinner?"
"Yeah, I did."
"Oh. Well if you get hungry, I made some chicken." She smiles.
"Ok."
I walk up a few steps on the staircase but I don't get far before mom starts talking again.
"Oh honey- you've got mail."
I turn around confused.Mail?
I quickly go down the few steps I climbed and take the white envelope out of her hands.
It has Berkeley written on it.
I quickly rush up the stairs and lock my bedroom door.
I hear mom call my name.
I rip open the envelope and almost snatch the letter out.Dear, Johnny,
We regret to inform you, we have decided to not go forward with your application-I crumble the paper before I read another word.
Fuck.
I didn't get into Berkeley.
I don't get it. My grades were good enough. Well, not really, but still.Whatever.
It doesn't matter. I still have to hear from UCLA.
Y/n should've gotten a letter too. I wonder if she got in.I pick up the phone and begin to dial her number but suddenly the phone rings.
"Hello?" I answer the phone thinking it's Y/n.
"Hey man!" Tommy answers.
———
"Hey babe." I smile at Y/n.
"Hey." She smiles as she approaches me.
"I like your shirt." I point to her T- shirt.
"Thanks." She smiles looking down at her Queen shirt."But I do prefer the towel." I smirk before stepping back inside my car.
"You're such a loser." She mumbles as she buckles her seat belt.
"What'd you say?" I ask.
"Nothing." She smiles looking up at me.
"Really? It sounded like you said something." I lean closer to her.
"No- no I didn't say anything." She shrugs innocently.
"Huh. Well, you're the loser." I mumble.
"Oh you suck!" She smiles and pushes me back to my seat.
"Hey that's your job." I smirk.
She freezes and sits back in her seat.
I cant hold my laughter.
