Couple of weeks later.
"Your Highness. I regret to inform you, however, the advances of their army are alarming. They've already passed Baekche and Goguryeo and left no harm; I fear their aim is for us." The Lieutenant General informed the serious Queen as fear grew in his tone.
"We'll be fine. Prepare the troops. Kill the cowards. Kill the traitors. I want a perfect army." She replied calmly. However her panic was undeniably thriving inside of her.
"We need an alliance with Baekche. Goguryeo already is already with us. Send out a messenger: have him ask the Army General of their kingdom what's necessary for an urgent alliance. I want it right away." The General immediately bowed and left the room with utmost urgency. Aeri trusted him immensely, she had never seen anyone as loyal as he is. He was loyal to her father and even more loyal towards her.
The next day at Baekche.
"I've been sent from Her Royal Majesty, Queen Yi Aeri of Silla. I wish to convey a personal message from her highness herself unto your army general. It is a matter of urgency." The messenger sent from Silla said, kneeled on one knee in front of the king of Baekche, Park Sunghoon's father.
"Very well. You may talk to my son, Prince Park Sunghoon. He is my general. Servant, take him to my son." The warm hearted king replied with a a non-intimidating look on his face.
The messenger was lead by the King's aide towards Sunghoon's throne room. He entered the room and saw him sat back on his throne, his sheathed sword leaning against the throne. It was embossed with the finest of dark jewels, and lined with a contrastingly bright gold.
"Your Highness. I come from the Kingdom of Silla. The Beloved Queen, Queen Yi A-"
"Aeri. My love. Please do speak. I'm sure she's missed my touch." The messenger was cut off by Sunghoon's seductive tone.
"The Queen wishes to form an alliance, on urgent basis. She requests you to inform her on the conditions lm how to form the alliance." The messenger continued briefly.
"I want you to tell her this word for word. I mean it. Word for word." Sunghoon emphasised the last part sternly. That made the messenger take out a piece of paper and sit on the ground, ready to copy what he was saying, word for word.
"Usually I would make them give something to us and we would give something to them. However, since my wife is asking. All I ask for is for her to marry me. I mean, isn't that how it's traditionally done?" Sunghoon explained, feeling accomplished.
The messenger then took his leave and went back to Silla to give the Queen her 'much awaited news' predicting Queen's frustrated reaction ahead.
