"What happened?" Sunghoon asked, placing both his hands on her shoulders.

"Secretary Choi.. h-he was killed. The General brought that damned paper to me saying it was left at his house, where he was murdered." Aeri remarked, Sunghoon's face oddly unfazed. Aeri ran into his arms, clutching onto him with her life.

"Sunghoon.. I'm scared." She whimpered, her tear letting loose and flowing down her cheeks. Her heart pounded against her chest and her breathing paced. She felt warm as her blood boiled with anger yet her body was ice to the touch in fear. Sunghoon's hand rubbed her back, hushing her as he cradled her in his arms.

"I'll protect you. I promise. I'll protect you with my kingdom, my castle, my people, my soldiers, our soldiers and I'll protect you with my life. I would climb every mountain for you. drown in every ocean for you, burn in every flame for you, control the wind for you, flood every town for you if I had to save you. Aeri, I don't think you get it. Every time hear your name, dream of you, see your beautiful face or even breathe the same air as you I feel ecstatic. I enter a state of euphoria all because of you, a trance with you in hold of the reigns. Aeri you control me. All my decisions are for you and what you would like and what you do not like. I cannot breathe when you are not near and I cannot think when you are not here," Sunghoon professed.

"Sunghoon, I-"

"No, let me speak. You are my first thought in the morning and my final in the night. It's hard to believe you once hated m-"

"Just shut up," Aeri chuckled, pulling him in from behind his neck and placing her lips onto his. Earning him by surprise, he gave in and deepened their connection. Those butterflies were the same when the first kissed; nothing changed.

"I love you, Park Sunghoon."

"I love you too, Park Aeri." He smirked.
