THE NEXT DAY.

Aeri jolted awake by the voice of her handmaiden shaking her awake gently.

"M'lady, it is almost midday. Please do wake up. Your schedule is slightly packed today. Prince Sunghoon will also be visiting you today." She said as she placed a glass of medicine on the side table. "And this is for your hangover. I will take my leave now."

The Queen hadn't even processed it properly, only comprehending the sharp pain in her spine and head. Whatever her maiden had just said had entered through one ear and out the other. However, the one thing she did hear was the name of Sunghoon; and that was verily enough to motivate her to get going for the day.

"Your Royal Highness, the Prince of Baekche has arrived."

"Very well. Allow him to enter. Please provide him appropriate seating along with it." Aeri tried to suppress her glee upon hearing about his arrival. She had never waited for someone as much as she would wait restlessly for minutes, hours, days and even weeks for him to visit.

"M'lady," Sunghoon bowed slightly, his eyes filled with awe as he looked at her figure sat elegantly in front of him.

"To what do I owe your visit?" Aeri asked with a grin.

"I felt the need to check up on my future queen, especially after out last encounter, I felt many signals being sent." He replied with a small chuckle, the Queen's face flushing pink.

Collecting her composure once again, the Queen only gave a smirk and gave the Prince a much expected answer,

"How'd you read my mind? I must say, you're proving smarter than I perceived you to be. Funny how you utterly make yourself a fool ninety-percent of the time."

"Only a fool for you my dearest," Sunghoon said with a wink, raising his head and slowly nearing her throne. Once more, Aeri's heart pounded at her chest begging to be freed from this lovestruck state. His eyes were fierce with passion yet tender and innocent, as though of a puppy. To be completely vulgar, Aeri wished she could feel the passion of his lips and the warmth of his welcoming embrace right there and then, yet she held herself back; she couldn't allow herself to be sold so easily.

Breaking the tension, Aeri reached out and fixed his collar, for it was popped upwards.

"If you're going to come visit me, at least make yourself neat and presentable, love. I'd expect more from the future King of Baekche and the General of my army." She tutted sarcastically whilst giving the awe-struck man a pure smile.

"Remind me why I decided to ally with an obnoxious perfectionist again?"

"Watch your tongue," Aeri playfully yelled whilst hitting him lightly on the shoulder to receive a laugh to escape the Prince's mouth in return.

Oh how she loved to hear him laugh and see him smile. How she wished she could wake up everyday and see his affectionate, beaming smile.

"Well, enough joking around, you're not my jester. What's the real reason for your visit?" She questioned.

"Well..."
