A BAT!

I sat in the library six textbooks deep trying to get this damn assignment done.

When My phone went off in my pocket so I grabbed it out seeing my girlfriend had texted which made me immediately smile opening her message

Baby Bat <3 (Y/n):

Adam! come over immediately! I have a surprise! xxxxxxx

for a moment I was afraid.

Could this be a trap?

But it could also be sexy?

Is that a risk I'm willing to take?

I think we all know the answer is yes!

I packed my stuff up and headed out of the library as quickly as I could to the dorms and headed to her room knocking on the door

"yes?" she yelled

"It's me y/n"

"Ohh come in my love" she smiled

well, she doesn't seem angry.

or mad.

so I heard inside seeing her in her little single dorm room in her little black dress and cardigan, in her cute little slippers.

"Hey, baby bat what's up?" I smiled shutting the door behind me

"shhhhhhhhh" she says "look!" she smiled almost jumping as she spoke more excited than I have ever seen her before dragging me over to her bed where a little shoebox sat I was confused

I know she gets excited about new shoes but not this excited

I peered a little closer to the box that sat on her perfectly made bedsheets of black and white stars and a fluffy blanket, the black killstar box sat there with the stickers still on the side for her large platform boots the box was full of her black towels and little blankets and amount this mess of fabric was a small dark brown fluffy body, little skinlike wings, claws and a little pig like nose

"A BAT!" I yelped in shock about to scream but she forced a pillow over my mouth

"shh you'll spook him!"

"spook him!" I complained, "why! is there a bat in your room!"

"I found him on the grass outside my window, he's a poor little thing couldn't find a tree to roost the poor baby. he's alive he's just resting"

"then why is it in your room!"

"I wanted to make sure he was safe. and cosy" she smiled

"okay, then we need to uhhh call animal control. a bat... sanctuary I don't know but the key is to not panic"

"why ever would I panic about my new pet"

"Pet!"

"Yes?"

"You can't keep a bat a pet"

"why not?"

"They bite"

"as do dogs. and cats. and hamsters. and rabbits. in fact all pets even fish"

"they have rabies!"

"only rarely, don't assume badly about my baby adam" she says

"its illegal!"

"So is us sexting each other but we still do it. So is you downloading music from youtube. So is you going on discord and streaming Netflix to you and your friends"

"I- I only download music that doesn't exist on spotify" I argued "and I only streamed for discord because everyone was in different time zones but we all wanted to watch it together. and it isn't illegal for us to sext"

"It was when we first started dating"

"why?"

"we were fifteen."

"Yeah?"

"Under the age of consent"

"it was just texting"

"and sexy pics"

"Okay yes technical but we were both consenting individuals"

"Still"

"You're not keeping a bat as a pet"

"But I love him" she pouts "He's my spooky little boy my little dracy"

"Ohh god you named him"

"Yes I did!"

"I know you love bats, hell you are my little baby bat. but you know it would be best for him to go somewhere where he can be properly taken care of-"

"I'll take good care of him"

"I know you would. you'd likely spoil him rotten. but don't you want what's best for him? for him to be somewhere with other bats he can play with, where he can be on the right sleep schedule, and have the best food and toys"

"Your right" she sighed

we called a local group that could take care of the bat and they'd come and collect it even if she was upset when they came to collect the box she almost didn't want to give it up but she let them take the little bat luckily they promised her she could come down to the centre to visit her little bat whenever she liked she was a bit of a mess so I took her to my room so we could cuddle

"Hey, I know your sad about your little bat, but you'll get to visit him and he'll be happy their"

"I know, I just loved the idea of having my own little bat companion"

"I know you did, well Your my little bat companion I love you very much" I smiled giving her a kiss "Hey, I was waiting for Halloween for this but it's only a few days anyway" I smiled getting the little box from under my bed

"For me?"

"Of course, I know you love Halloween so I wanted to get you something nice"

she smiled giving me a little kiss and opening the box pulling out the huge realistic bat plushie I got for her big enough the wings could wrap around her to cuddle her and she could nuzzle on the fluffy chest

"Awwww thank you adam"

"Your welcome"

"I love it. and I love you very much"

"I love you too baby bat"
