A Poem Right Back At You.

This is for someone, you know who you are. You’ve told me how you feel in a less than graceful way and I guess this is a response.

Note: This is a very sarcastic poem.

I’m a monster,

The devil in disguise.

For I am a monster,

I’ll only tell you lies.

I’ll pick up your heart,

This is what I do for sport,

Then I’ll rip it apart,

It’s easier than thought.

I’m a man of steel,

And a man of stone,

I will tear you down,

Because you’re skin and bone.

I couldn’t love you properly,

And so you think I’m this,

This monster lurking in,

The pit of an abyss.

How easy it is,

To knowingly break a heart

To shatter it completely

With a poison dart.

I clearly preferred anything but you,

TV, our friend, or even the two.

I did it to cause pain,

Because that’s just  my game.

I’m a man of steel,

And a man of stone,

I will tear you down,

Because you’re skin and bone.

I couldn’t love you properly,

And so you think I’m this,

This monster lurking in,

The pit of an abyss.

If you really think,

The above is true,

Then you don’t know me,

The joke’s on you.

Because truth is I care a lot.

I never cheated, lied or took a low shot.

I did the right thing in ending ‘us’,

Because to break it off at a later point,

When you loved me more,

Is perhaps the worst thing I could do.

But clearly I must be

A man of steel,

And a man of stone,

To tear you down,

When you’re only skin and bone.

I couldn’t love you properly,

But by doing the right thing,

I get treated worse,

Than almost anything.
