I remember the day I got told, I cried.
For days, for weeks, for months, I cried.
The mention of your name, I cried.
The memories of when you were here, I cried.
The anniversary of the day it happened, I cry.
When I see you in photographs, I cry.
When our programmes come on TV, I cry.
When I know you’re just a memory, I cry.
Your empty seat at my wedding, I will cry.
The birth of your great-grandchild, I will cry.
When I reminisce, I will cry.
When I see you again, I will cry.
I love you forever and always, I cry.
Rest in perfect peace Gran, I cry.
