What I'm told about Love

I'm told that love is a deep deep red,

But doesn't red mean anger and revenge?

I'm told that love is like a rose,

But I know every rose has a thorn.

I'm told that love is happy and euphoric,

But I've seen the arguements and they're horrid.

I'm told that love is Romeo and Juliet,

But clearly they don't know the end.

I'm told that love is give and take,

But what if there's more take than give?

I'm told that love is a force stronger than any other,

But why not ask a divorced parent?

I'm told that love knows no limits,

But there's only so far that you can reach.

For all these reasons and more,

I know I must make my own judgements.

I know that love is wanted, hunted and found.

I know that love is unexpected.

I know that love knows no form.

But above all, I know that love is here when I'm with you.
