VI.

Monday morning came around and Steve was more prepared for this week. He was in a great mood from seeing Eddie the day before, and was over the moon from their little coffee "date", if he could call it that.

Steve arrived to the school early, bringing a box full of decorations for his classroom that he had went out and bought the day before. After he finished putting them up, he stood back by the entrance of the classroom and admired his work, smiling to himself. He finally felt like he belonged at the school.

"Ding dong, coffee delivery," Steve had moved to behind his desk, and smiled again as he heard the fellow teacher's voice.

"You shouldn't have," Steve happily accepted the coffee from Eddie.

"Hey, I'm trying to impress you. If that means bringing you coffee every day, I'm going to do it," Eddie winked, making Steve blush lightly.

"If you're trying to impress me, it's working," Steve played along, and caught a slight tinge of pink in Eddie's face.

Eddie grinned again and turned to leave, stopping when he got to the entrance of the door. "Hey, would you want to get dinner this weekend?"

Steve was taken aback by the question Eddie asked him, and was almost speechless. Was Eddie asking him out on a date? A real date?

"I'd like that," Steve nodded, adjusting his glasses that rested on his nose.

"I'll pick you up Friday. Eight o'clock," Eddie winked and left the room, waving as he did so. Steve could only watch as he walked away.

Friday, it seemed so far away. Steve didn't want to wait five whole days to hang out with Eddie, but told himself to be patient. It seemed Eddie had the same feelings about Steve, otherwise he wouldn't have asked him out. Right?

"How was your day?" Robin looked up from her laptop while lounging on the couch. Steve was sometimes jealous that she got to work from home.

"It was really good," Steve smiled, unable to hide the happiness he felt when thinking about his upcoming dinner date with Eddie.

"Oh yeah? Does Eddie have something to do with your good mood?" His best friend teased, and he rolled his eyes, sitting on the other end of the couch.

"He asked me out to dinner on Friday," Steve confessed, getting a gasp out of Robin.

"Steve! That's great!" She exclaimed, shutting her laptop excitedly.

"Relax, Robs. I don't even know if it's anything. It could just be a colleague asking another colleague out to dinner," Steve shrugged, which got a loud laugh out of Robin.

"Is he picking you up?" She questioned, fully invested.

"Yes."

"Did he tell you any details about it besides the date and time?"

"No, he just said Friday at eight."

"It's a date then, Stevie," Robin concluded, and Steve shook his head, a small smile on his face.

"I guess it is," he mumbled to himself, the smile on his face getting bigger.

As their conversation ended, there was a knock at the door, startling Steve slightly. He stood as Robin got back to her work and opened the door. "Eddie?"

"Hey, Harrington. You busy?" The curly haired man asked, a playful grin on his face.

Steve shook his head, pushing his glasses back up onto his face. "No, why?"
