VIII.
"What's got you all smiley?" Robin questioned. Her insinuating tone of voice was back with a vengeance.
"What? Nothing," Steve shook his head, avoiding her gaze as he set his keys and wallet down. "It was a really great time."
"Yeah? Did you fuck him?" Robin was only half joking, but still let her curiosity get the best of her.
"Robin! What the fuck, no! I don't fuck on the first date," Steve put his hand on his chest, acting fully offended. "I have more class than that."
Robin snorted, setting the cup she had in her hand down in the sink. "You definitely kissed him."
Steve mentally cursed at himself for being so flustered. Robin found him out almost immediately, and he didn't even have to say anything. "He kissed me first, and then I kissed him."
"I fucking knew it," Robin pointed her finger at Steve, as if she was accusing him of something. Steve only rolled his eyes at his best friend, grabbing a glass from the cupboard.
"I don't even know if it'll go anywhere. We both teach at the same school, I don't know if it'll work out," Steve shrugged, pouring water into the glass in his hand.
"Steve, stop being such a loser. See where things go, you owe it to your sad love life," Robin advised, and Steve flipped her off, turning to go to his room.
"Good night, Robin."
"I still need more details, Harrington!"
"In your dreams, Buckley."

The next morning came around all too quickly for Steve. He had finally fallen asleep sometime in the late night, but six o'clock snuck up on him. He groaned as he reached for his alarm, which was way too loud at the moment.
Steve had decided sometime the night before, after he arrived at home, that he was going to try to dress a little nicer for work to impress Eddie. Not that he needed any help doing that, he was doing a great job as it was.
A long sleeved button up was what he chose, and it was slightly tight on him, which he thought Eddie might enjoy. Jeans and his Doc Martens completed his outfit. He didn't know if he was trying to dress more like Eddie, or dress like someone Eddie might like, but either way he liked the outfit.
As he got to the school, he saw Dustin and Mike standing by their lockers. They waved as they saw him, and he gave them a small smile and a wave back, turning into his classroom. As he set up for the day, he heard a small knock on his door.
His morning visitor was right on time.
"One coffee for Harrington and his amazing hair," Eddie made his way into the classroom, setting Steve's coffee down on his desk.
"Thank you," Steve grinned and took a sip. He couldn't keep the smile off his face. Not to mention, his face was already red just from seeing Eddie walk in.
Eddie looked good today. He wore a short sleeve button up shirt and dark jeans, accompanied by his signature combat boots. It looked similar to his normal teacher-wear, but Steve thought he always looked great. Not to mention, his tattoos were partially on display.
Steve was a sucker for people with tattoos.
"You're staring, pretty boy," Eddie winked, taking a sip of his own coffee.
Steve quickly snapped out of his thoughts and cleared his throat, trying to act like he wasn't just blatantly admiring Eddie. "Sorry. You look really good today."
