First Holiday With Your Family pt. 1 - Jimmy - ♡☆

Authors Note: Idk, this might end up being a shorter one than usual, I've been really sick all week and I'm really behind on all my school work so, I'm considering getting some of it done after I write this. (I lied, this ended up being one of the longest ones I've written and guess who decided to not do any of their schoolwork today <3)

"Jimmy stop, my parents aren't gonna hate you. My brother might, but my parents won't," I reassured Jimmy as we drove to my families house for Thanksgiving.

"Are you sure though? Your dad didn't seem very happy over the phone," Jimmy gave me a look of concern

"My dad never sounds happy over the phone," I laughed, "It's just part of his character, but I promise he's actually quite nice,"

"Okay, if you say so..." Jimmy mumbled.

"It's not too late to go back and just have Thanksgiving dinner with the team, I'm sure they wouldn't mind,"

"No no, it's fine, I want to meet your family,"

"Alright, if you're sure,"

"Yes I'm sure,"

We stayed quiet for just about the rest of the drive. I knew Jimmy was nervous and I didn't want to bother him. 

My phone started ringing and I glanced down to see who it was. I sighed when I saw the word 'mom' on my screen. "She probably wants to know how much longer until we'll be there,"

I picked up the phone and put it on speaker. "Hey mom,"

"Hello Haisley!" I heard her shout  into the phone, "Are you guys gonna be here soon?"

"Yeah, we're only maybe 20 minutes away," I replied.

"Oh that's perfect. Would you mind stopping somewhere and grabbing some rolls? Your father was supposed to grab some last night on his way home from work but he claims he forgot."

"Yeah sure mom, that shouldn't be a problem, I need to stop and get gas anyways." Suddenly my phone beeped, I looked at it again and it said Abby was calling, "Hey mom I've gotta let you go, I've got another call coming in, see you soon."

"Okay, love you, bye,"

After my mom hung up I accepted Abby's call. "Hey Abby, what's up?"

"You said you'd call when you got there," Abby replied.

"Yeah, I know, we aren't there yet though,"

"What? you should have been there like 10 minutes ago,"

"Well someone got hungry and made us stop at McDonald's," I laughed.

"Ohhhh, did you make sure to get a happy meal?" Abby asked.

"Yep, don't worry Abbs, Jimmy reminded me to get the happy meal. The worker there asked how old the kid was and I wasn't exactly sure what to say. She was some shocked when she saw there wasn't a kid in the vehicle."

"That's really funny. After you guys get back I'll come up to the squad room and get the toy,"

"Alright sounds good,"

"Make sure to stay safe guys, byee,"

We both hung up and I continued to drive, "I don't really remember where the gas station is up here..." I mumbled to myself. I knew the turn was coming up soon. "Ah here it is," I said as I pulled in.

I got out of the vehicle and closed the door, "Hey Jimmy, do you wanna run in and grab some rolls while I get some gas?"

"Yeah sure," He said as he started toward the building.
