Emilia showed up to the diner the next morning at 6:50, just to make sure Cora knew she was serious about the job. The older woman complimented her punctuality and gave her the rundown on how things worked.

Since it was her first day of her first real job, she was to be a waitress. It was easy enough.

Her outfit consisted of a black t-shirt, shorts, and red converse with a name tag that read 'Emilia' in her handwriting.

Throughout the day, Emilia mostly dealt with the regulars and several truck drivers. A few teenagers came in but they didn't stay long, only grabbing a quick bite to eat.

Charlie entered the diner around 5 pm and sat in his usual spot. Emilia took her break to have dinner with her dear uncle.

"So Em, I spoke to Miranda," Charlie began, gaining Emilia's attention. "Elena and Jeremy want to see you badly enough that they started asking if they could visit Forks for a couple of weeks."

"Oh? What'd you tell Miranda?" Emilia questioned, picking at her food. Deep down, she was hoping for something good.

"I told her that I'd talk to you since you'll be working most of the summer."

"It's your house, but I wouldn't mind spending some time with them if Miranda's okay with bringing the kids. I'll even meet them in Seattle if I have to."

"Alrighty, I'll call in the morning. Anything interesting happen before I got here?" Charlie asked and they fell into a deep conversation.

It had always been easy for the two of them to talk, even though Charlie wasn't the best with conversations. He was reserved, but talking to his niece meant everything to him.

When Emilia arrived back at the house a few hours later, she showered and got ready for bed.

She was soon interrupted by Alice sitting on her bed.

"I heard that Jeremy and Elena are coming for a few weeks." Alice said.
Emilia flopped onto the other side of her bed and got comfortable.
"Heard? More like you saw it and you're asking questions." Emilia chuckled. "Charlie mentioned that they wanted to come. He talked to me, I agreed, he said that he would call in the morning."

"Well, the decision has been made! They'll be here in about two weeks. . . In terms of other decisions, I saw you dropped his things off yesterday. Are you okay?" It didn't take a rocket scientist to know who Alice was talking about.

"Yeah, yeah I'm fine. Figured it was about time I stop moping around when I was the one that ended the relationship in the first place." Emilia responded, closing her eyes.

"I can already tell you're doing much better, Em. You've had a long day, I can leave if you'd like?" Alice suggested.
Emilia shook her head, already preparing to sit up and walk down the stairs again. "No, but meet me at the front door so Charlie can see you come in."

A few minutes later Emilia trailed down the stairs to open the door. She let Alice in and said goodnight to Charlie.

The two stayed up talking until Emilia fell asleep.

Short chapter, I do apologize. I suppose we're going to see the Gilberts.

And again, if you see Alyssa instead of Emilia, let me know so I can fix it! When I started this, I was obsessed with the name Alyssa and I felt it didn't fit anymore.
