In the span of just a couple months, Emilia received all of two calls from Klaus, one of which was to ask that she indulge in a meal with him soon to discuss important matters. Though with their very different schedules, that could be a while.
In the meantime, Clint, Natasha, and Emilia completely took over the Gilbert family's kitchen in preparation for the holiday while anyone named Elena, Stefan, Jenna, Jeremy, and Caroline were banned from the kitchen until further notice.
It was tradition at that point to have a giant sleepover in the living room.
The three agents had the pleasure of meeting Elena's new boyfriend, Stefan, and though they were extremely confused as to why he was there, they didn't interrogate him too roughly.
It was noticeable to Emilia as soon as he entered the house that he was a vampire. She'd learned to sense their presence as was recommended to her by Klaus.
According to him, it was for her own protection. She wasn't sure why he cared, but it kept her alive for that long.
As hours went by, Clint managed to come up with every inappropriate turkey joke imaginable and it had started when he found Emilia preparing the turkey before everyone went to bed. . . Which then led to a raw turkey neck flying across the kitchen and hitting him in the face.
She didn't know how it happened. . . At least that was the story she went with.

"Get out of my kitchen." Emilia said, holding a serving spoon in the general direction of the three teenagers who stood in the doorway.
"Technically, it's not your kitchen." Elena said.
"Technically, I didn't ask. . . Be gone, children, I'm cooking." Emilia responded."Are we not allowed to have breakfast?" Jeremy questioned, entering the kitchen further.
"No, suffer. Food will be done in about an hour. . . In the meantime, go watch the parade with Clint or something."
"There's Pikachu!" Clint called from the other room, excitedly pointing at the TV like a child. Jenna and Natasha stared at him in amusement. By now they were both used to his behavior.
"He's a giant man child. . ." Caroline said quietly.
"He might be, but he's our man child and we love him anyway. Out, or I'll put you on dish duty." Emilia responded with a grin.
That got the three teenagers to leave the room, only for Nat to enter a few minutes later. "Let me help. Parades were never really my thing, unfortunately."
"Uh, can you grab the rolls from the oven and brush them with butter while I attempt to get this in for forty-five minutes?""Yeah, I'm on it."
Sure enough, an hour later food lined the counter and the island as people came through, filling their plates.
For most, it was the first Thanksgiving where the turkey wasn't dry as fuck.
After years of prepping the birds for holiday consumption, Emilia had mastered making the turkey enjoyable.Sometime after the meal, most passed out watching cartoons, except Stefan and Emilia who were still in the kitchen/dining area.
"You know, Elena's like my little sister." Emilia said suddenly, looking up from her mug of hot chocolate.
"She uh, she told me about how you're the big sister she always needed. . . I hope you know I would never intentionally hurt her." Stefan said in response."I know some things, Stefan. . . And as I'm sure you've already figured it out, I take my family's happiness very seriously. . . If I find out she's hurt because of you, there will be a vervain soaked stake waiting here with your name on it. I can promise you that." Emilia responded.
Her eyes looked dangerous.
He was smart and nodded.
