"Here," Leon reached his hand down to you, motioning you to take it. You grab his hand tightly, hauling yourself the rest of the way.

Ladders, hallways, and caves oh my.

You replied in thanks, gathering your bearings and allowing your mind to wander. Leon had been so quiet, only speaking when he thought you needed something.

"You alright?" Leon inquired, walking just ahead of you. Your eyes taking notice of the overly large gate a few feet away.

"Yeah, I'm fine," short and sweet, maybe cold.

"Good," your eyes narrowed into his spine.

Good? Shut it.

Your fingers were tightly latched around your pistol as you watched Leon push the gate open, shockingly it wasn't locked. The two of you began down the trail, your fingers glazing across the rocks to your left, invasive thoughts taking hold.

"Careful here," Leon warned, motioning toward the drop just ahead. Your mind began to spiral. You wanted to speak, but the fear of your plan backfiring kept you at bay, or so you thought.

Oh no,

"Just what goes through that head of yours?" You blurted, eyes widening as you hop down the ledge. Leon stopped in his tracks, turning to meet your eyes.

"I could say the same," he replied, his blue orbs wandered longer than you'd originally thought, before he ripped away your seemingly only form of peace.

"So, you two are all hooked up now is that it?" The gruff voice of Krauser was hard to mistake and there he was, in all his glory. Arms crossed over his bare chest.

"Where's Ashley!" You seethed, your heart felt for the young girl. Just how much more would she have to endure?

"Do you really wanna know?" Krauser asked, turning his gaze to meet yours. "She's beyond that gate- but you'll need three insignias to open it." He finished, pointing toward the gate.

"What are you gonna do Krauser?" Leon asked, fits clenching.

"There's one in the north," his finger made its way toward the north side of the castle, "and the other in the east,"

"And let me guess, you got the last one," sarcasm dripped from your words as you moved a step closer, reaching for your gun, but not before Krauser turned to face Leon,

"It pretty much means, you're on a tight leash," your eyes traveled down to reveal Krauser's gun aimed straight for Leon's chest, red laser apparent.

"Sounds like you thought this one out pretty well," Leon's eyes locked onto yours, giving you an idea, you reached out, grasping the air around your hand, a sharp rock lifting just near your fingertips, you swung your arm back into his direction causing his shot to be deflected.

"Go!" Leon warned, loudly, you followed, sprinting just after him and behind a large wall. The sound of an automatic weapon making you ears hurt.
