Khyle Zander Hendrix
"Sit down." He says as he walked across the room.
I didn't say anything and just did what I was told.
"Do you want coffee?" He asked.
"Zero..." I called.
"Hm?" He hummed, as soft and calm as he always been.
"I want to quit." I said.
"Quit what?" He asked, pouring hot water into the cups.
"Working for you." I replied.
He didn't say anything and just served the hot cup of coffee on top of the table.
"Come here again tomorrow."
He says, taking a sip of the coffee.
"Zero-"
"Don't leave." He cuts me off.
He looks at me.
His eyes were pleading.
"Don't leave me too." He whispered ever so softly, I almost didn't get it.
It was as if I was put into a spell.
Following his words as if I was dancing to the beat of his tune.
"Khyle..."
It always feels like a blooming flower, the way he calls my name.
I just couldn't run away.
"Stay with me, please."
Because I'm the butterfly attracted to him.
Just like I've always been.
So it continued that way.
Me, coming to the studio.
Him, painting me.
Me, falling for him harder.
Him, making my heart flutter.
It's as if I was just running in circles.
I just couldn't stop.
"Do you wanna try it?" He asks.
"Try what?" I asked back.
"Paint me." He says.
We met each other's eyes and he smiles at me softly.
Even with strikes of paint in his face, he was still the most beautiful person I've ever seen.
The sun rays were seeping through the windows, as I found myself holding a paint brush in my hand and a canvas in front of me.
"It doesn't have to be pretty or whatever. Just do it how you usually do it." He says as he held the flower as a prop and placing it close to his face.
I almost forgot which was the flower between them.
"You're probably gonna hate this." I said, still trying my best to make it pretty.
"I promise I won't." He says.
"Can I see them?" He asked.
"No chance." I replied, playfully.
"That's just fair because you've never let me see one of yours- hey!"
He suddenly grabs the canvas and laughs.
He takes the chance to look at it and I sprinted towards him so he wouldn't, but he held it on top of his head.
He was taller than me, so I was having a hard time grabbing it back, given that he also has long arms.
It's just that I didn't even realized how close our faces were from each other.
His wide smile slowly faded as he started staring down at my lips and I stared down at his as well.
It felt like how it was before.
I backed away and created more distance.
It's better like this.
"I'm gonna get going now." I said, quickly grabbing my things and left.
Let's not make the same mistakes anymore.
